I stayed at the Alston Inn Hotel last November 2006 for two nights. My room was on the ground floor - there was a pungent odour when I entered the room and there was no hot water. The water that did come out of the hot tap was yellow . It was located in an area subject to continuous traffic noise but was near to the shops and internet access. The staff were friendly and it was generally what you would expect from a budget hotel.
