This hotel is in the perfect location in the new Mariscal district. It is walking distance from the main plaza, restaurants, pubs etc. and yet in the quiet part of Calama street. A block away on Calama are noisy restaurants and pubs, but this place is quiet inspite of the close proximity to all the restaurants and pubs. The people... more

We stayed here several nights in between trips to other parts of Ecuador. The staff were very helpful, the breakfasts good, and the rooms clean with comfortable beds. At night time we really enjoyed the fireplace in the lobby--a great place to sit and check email using the hotel's wireless (the wireless did not reach to our rooms). Our first... more

My friend and I stayed at Casa Sol in June - coming and going 3 times as we traveled around Ecuador. The first room we stayed in was VERY small and dark with plaster peeling off the walls. It also had extremely unreliable hot water pressure for showers. When we came back we were given another room on the courtyard... more

My friend & used La Casa Sol as our home base in Quito on our trip to Ecuador. We stayed there on three different occasions with overnight trips in between. Our first night, there were no double rooms available, so we each had a single room. I stayed in the loft, which was on the top floor & had a... more

This place can charm anyone with its sunny facade and interior. It's cozy and quaint but right in the hustle and bustle of the tourist scene in Quito. Above the small lobby, each room is unique and tucked away in a corner or up a stairway. The continental breakfasts are delicious, with lots of options. The staff is super helpful... more

We recently travelled to Ecuador and used La Casa Sol as our "home base" each time we returned to Quito. It is a cute, comfortable hostel in the midst of the Mariscal Sucre, a trendy area with lots of restaurants, plazas and shopping, and a lively nightlife in the plaza (we were there for a gay pride celebration as well... more

We enjoyed our time at the Casa sol! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We wauld definitely recommend others to stay here. We stayed in both a small room and a suite, and the suite was perfect to come "home" to. Muchas Gracias!!! Stacy & John Honolulu, Hawaii more

As a travel agent taking a group of 14 to the Galapagos, I'm very glad we spent two nights at La Casa Sol with its Ecuadorian charm. It was nice to have someone waiting for us at the airport and we were able to hire him for a private city tour the next day. The hostel has much colorful personality... more

We got to La Casa Sol early in the evening and were a bit tired after traveling all day. Our guide had called and made the reservations 4 days earlier and had given me the reservation number. When we got there they did not have the reservation but did have a room The girls at the desk were really snotty... more

We stayed here 5 of our 10 days in Ecuador and used it sporadically throughout our trip. They allowed us to leave luggage at no charge and allowed a lock box for passports and money the entire trip. The breakfast was the best in Ecuador, the beds the most comfortable. Free internet. The staff was very responsive. Our plane did... more
