3 out of 4 taxi drivers could not find the address. The one given is too general and due to one way streets... they mostly miss it. Call the hotel in advance... ask for Wilson's phone 0992579279 - he speaks excellent English and Spanish. He's your go to guy! Very pleasant stay... asked for early breakfast and it was done.... The building and room was nice with cute garden, but room was not really clean. You can expect 12%+10%+1 USD extra charge at paying as tax plus service fee. It was pretty expensive, we managed to find similar hotel for half price closer to the center. The location is good if you want to be close to the zona rosa,... More

This is a simple but comfortable hotel, ideally located in a safe, walkable neighborhood. The national museum is a few blocks away, and you can walk to many restaurants in la Mariscal, or take a quick cab or bus to the Centro Historico. The rooms on the courtyard are quiet, and the garden just outside your door is a pleasant... More

This is a pleasant, small hotel on a perfect location in a quit neighbourhood and only a couple of dollars ride from the old town and the entertainment area. Service is friendly, internet is good. We bad room6 in the old building, which is a nice spacious room, but we found it a little bit chilly, because of te high... More

We had a great time here at this quaint and beautiful property. It was in a lovely area of Quito within walking distance or a short taxi drive to the Old Town and the Museum. The staff people were lovely to us--very kind and helpful with great suggestions of things to do and see. We had a late flight out,... More

I lead summer trips for high school students interested in learning about the culture of South American countries and improving their Spanish skills. Needless to say, traveling with a group can be challenging, and traveling with teenagers can add other layers of complexity to touring a foreign country. After staying at La Cartuja for a number of days during summer... More

We were traveling to Ecuador and stayed several times at La Cartuja during our trip. We stayed in 3 different rooms, and all were really nice, clean and calm. A real gem, very calm in the noisy city. Breakfast is good, with a different mix of fresh fruit every day. We will stay there again!

Location is perfect, close to everything -- museum, park, artesan market, fastfood (KFC, McDonald's), public transportation. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, used different rooms -- both very clean and spacious. English speaking staff :)

I only stayed here two nights. But I loved it. Very clean rooms. The breakfasts each morning were delicious! Such friendly staff that went out of their way to ensure our group had what we needed. Great courtyard, free wifi, and very convenient location within walking distance to restaurants.

This hotel helped our group (12) feel the real flavor of Ecuador. The center court yard was wonderful for gathering. The WiFi was great for the group to share their pictures with family back home. The rooms were very clean and the extra blanket was greatly appreciated. The breakfast was excellent with wonderful fresh fruit and fresh juice, a different... More
