Nice and very helpful staff is the biggest advantage of this hotel. Location is not too good but it is not bad either Room are specious, however they need to be refurbish. Breakfast is not bad but nothing spectacular. They allowed us to leave our luggage for 3 days when we were on trip outside of Quito (free of charge)... More

The Sierra Madre is a great choice for a cheaper hotel in Quito and still being in a nice hotel. The walls are a little thin, but it's an older hotel so to be expected. The breakfast is decent, continental style with eggs. It has hot water and free wifi which was welcomed after being in the Amazon. Just a... More

Quito's climate is such that many buildings have no heat. Our room was cold. There were lots of blankets. I would take a hot shower and try to stay warm. Our towels stayed quite damp -- chilly. I'm not sure if the weather was particularly cool but the room was not comfortable in the evening. We asked for space heater... More

Arrived at the hotel at 3am, luckily the hot water was working, as others in my group weren't so lucky. Basic, clean and comfortable, well located close to the Plaza Foch area with all its restaurants and clubs. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Filtered water available on each floor which was great. Wifi a bit patchy, but this seems... More

US Missionary Traveler: Terrific, comfortable, service. Good price and the attendants speak good English. Quaint, quiet hotel, and the price and size of rooms are very fair. Tip: pay a few extra bucks to get a patio. Sleeping with the cool mountain air is perfect. Tucked away near several good shops and locations. Snacks and "essentials" are close, but restaurants... This hotel was good hotel for the money. The staff at this small hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate recommending this hotel for it's large bright rooms and extremely helpful staff. Some taxi drivers had difficulty finding the hotel and a small map on the back of their business card would have been helpful.

We arrived twice at Sierra Madre and spent there 3 nights in total. The room is spacious with a good bathroom and shower (warm water -> yay!). It is within walking distance to the popular Plaza Foch and its easy to get a cab around the hotel. The breakfast is very simple (not a lot of bread), but gets you... More

My dad and I stayed here for 3 nights this week - what a gem! We opted for a top floor balcony unit with vaulted ceilings. This place is so quaint! Wrap around deck, great spanish paint job, nice beams & wood floors. Wi-Fi available even on top floor. Service was AMAZING! They helped us plan our outings and bus... More

This was the final hotel of our stay in Ecuador. We had requested a room with a balcony to celebrate a birthday and Daniella gave us the best room in the hotel with a terrace and an awesome view of the city and background mountains. The hotel lobby and restaurant looked beautiful, but our room was very average for the price you pay and compared to other hotels in Quito with the same price range. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights after our trip from the Galapagos and the morning we were checking out, we went for breakfast and left our stuff in... More

Dear Kathy, We have never had a problem of lost things in the rooms or in the hotel, maybe after you went out of the hotel you were stolen on the bus and you did not notice. Our staff has been working for many years at the Hotel and we really trust on them. I am really sorry for what... More
