Recently Delta Airlines put my husband and I up for a few hours in this hotel. I used to live in Ecuador and have stayed in nice Ecuadorian run hotels, this was not one of them. We were sent to our room which was termite eaten, dirty and very noisy. Then I crawled under the covers and .....my legs got... More

DIRTY DEPRESSING UNCOMFORTABLE NOISEY & EXCEEDINGLY POOR VALUE - WE have stayed in backpackers hostels that were much cheaper and superior in every way! - One night at THE AMBASSODOR is one night too many.

I have stayed at the Hotel Ambassador many, many times not because it is really comfortable or appealing to the eye, but because it is very inexpensive and in North Quito. There are certainly many better places to stay, but for one or two nights I choose to stay there because of the price plus they provide free cable TV,... More

This hotel needs a lot of work! The room smelled like rotten, the beds were so uncomfortable. Breakfast is not included and what's worse they tried charging me for some food I didn't even ordered. WIFI sucks!! had to go outside to use the Internet. During check out they couldn't find the remote control and I told them it must... More

The place is pretty tired. Our room was battered and a bit shabby, but everything was clean. Others in our group seemed to have somewhat better rooms, but overall the place has seen its better days. Location seems to be safe and busy.

I started staying at this hotel in 1998 when I was in Ecuador with the military. It became my favorite place to stay until one of my bags was stolen from the lobby when I was checking out. The desk clerk claimed she did not see anyone near my bags which were no more that 5 feet away from me... More

Have stayed at this hotel several times while in Quito. The location cannot be beat-close to the Mariscal district and a short tram ride into old town. Rooms are dated but acceptable-avoid rooms on the third floor (or attic) they are up in the roof line of the building and the bathroom was made for midgets. The older part of... More

This is the third time we've stayed at Hotel Ambassador. The price was excellent for us - approximatley $51 per night for a family of 5 (which includes 21, 18 and 17 year olds). The room was large, plenty of hot water. This is a great budget hotel which is in the slow process of remodeling. The towels also need... More
