We stayed here in April 2012 on route to the Galapagos for 3 nights, so we could visit the historic centre of Quito and have a restful interlude during our 3 week trip. We were welcomed on our arrival by the owner, Lazlo, who gave us some good tips on what to see and arranged a driver for our use... More

stayed 7 nights in 3 different rooms on 3 different floors in and out, over two week vacation period while we toured Ecuador. Great staff and atmosphere. As long as you don't expect a 'brand new hotel' experience, you'll be fine, this is Quito, not Michigan Ave in Chicago. Lots of cheaper hostels to stay in, but If this fits... More

When booking a trip to Equador I decided that I wanted to stay in a more personal hotel as I stay in 5* hotels for my work. I found this on the internet and stayed 5 nights, went off to the Galapagos Islands, then came back to the hotel for another 2 nights before going off into the Amazon Rainforest,... More

Good safe accommodation at a decent price. Enjoyed the atmosphere provided by a cozy fireplace and friendly staff. The restaurant served such good pasta that we had the same dish twice! Also you could help yourself to coffee in the morning. The door man was always smiling and the staff at the front desk were very helpful plus had a... More

My family and I arrived after a long day of travel from NYC to land in this amazing oasis. The staff rocked as they showed us a choice of several amazing rooms that all had a stunning theme. After settling into our rooms we ventured down for a fantastic dinner with impeccable service and gourmet food at unbelievable prices. The... More

Clean, comfortable and packed with plenty of character. Situated in the 'hotel district', Cafe Cultura is a good base from which to explore Quito. Just a 5 minute walk from a very cheap internet cafe and 15 mins from a bustling square crammed with restaurants and shops. The rooms are a mix of ensuite twins, doubles, triples etc all of... More

The hotel doesn't really live up to its photos. It is a lovely old building which has been converted into a hotel but they seem to be having difficulty keeping it up to a good standard. Our room, which was large with the most enormous bathroom, smelt strongly of damp and there were signs in some of the public rooms... More

The front lobby is very inviting, interesting and full of character. It seemed promising until we got to our room. About 8x8 ft over looking the bus station which was very loud with traffic pulling in all night. We asked to change rooms and go another room with 3 single beds. The room lighting didn't work and had to be... More

I really enjoyed my stay here. Particularly the fresh feel of the hotel, the warm and comfortable rooms. And the juices at the café downstairs. Very friendly staff and a quiet feel after the bustle of Quito. One of my best hotel memories ever. More

Was booked into Cafe Cultura through Galapagos Islands.com This is a an interesting hotel. Nice staff, good food, gives you a real local feel. The rooms have a local flavor but I missed my standard wide screen TV. There is free internet access but no TV. Really liked the fireplaces in every room connected to lobby. Many old books to...
