There don't exist superlatives to describe the service I received at Cafe Cultura. I was immediately affected by altitude sickness on arrival in Quito. It was not serious enough to require immediate oxygen in the hospital (although the night receptionist offered to call an ambulance). The hotel has a doctor on contract. He was called and arrived within the hour.... more

Very nice and unique hotel in the newtown part of quito, close to all the bars and restaurants. For the most part, we couldnt fault this hotel although it did fall down in one or two areas, when compared with others in the same class....They charge a considerable amount for internet usage, they also charge for baggage storage and there... more

We recently spent 5 nights at Hotel Cafe Cultura. Our package tour wanted to put us at the Hilton which was only 2 blocks away. We did not want to stay in a major chain so opted out and followed the recommendations from here and another travel site. This is a wonderful small boutique hotel. It was the home of... more

We didn't actually spend the night as a room for two was $99 and above our budget, but if you can spring for it, this place is enchanting. It is a renovated old hacienca-home done with exquisite taste. We came just for the cafe (espresso with fresh cinnamon sticks), and the restaurant. The chef is Italian-trained and his sauces are... more

Let's start by staying that we GREATLY enjoyed Cafe Cultura. I was a little leery because of some of the reviews, so we sprung for a suite. Good choice. Our room was large, quiet and comfortable. However, I did walk around the hotel and can concur that some of the upstairs room have odd ceilings and are a bit small.... more

I am only now writing this review bc a colleague of mine is booking his galapagos trip and i was trying in... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights prior to visiting the Galapagos. On the positive side, this hotel has a lot of character. This restaurant was good, the staff was helpful and the library/fireplace area was a nice place to spend time. We could walk to several good restaurants, as well as a tienda and a telephone cabina (for... more

I have stayed at Cafe Cultura 4 times because I travel with a group and don't make the arrangements myself and I have yet to be satified with any room. They are all quirky and there is always something that is misplaced or something that doesn't work, like the lights or the shower. Last time the roof leaked water onto... more

The women who work there are outstanding! I went several nights during a climbing trip. I found it convenient to the main tourist areas and the food excellent. A very special place. more

Beautiful facility, with friendly, courteous staff. Each room is uniquely hand decorated. There is a lovely sitting room with a fireplace and library. The hotel is very secure and the staff was very helpful with taxis, restaurants, etc. The food was expensive but delicious. Expensive for a hotel in Ecuador, but a great experience for the money. more
