We spent 3 nights and were very happy. Very friendly service. Good breakfast. No elevators, so taking luggage up to 3rd floor is a task at that altitude. Fortunately, the staff helped. Good restaurants with walking distance. Evcen found a cheap laundry nearby. more

I selfishly hope eveyone does not discover this lovely little palace so I will be able to obtain space on my next trip; it is the best kept secret in Ecuador. Very well located, great security, friendly attentive staff and all at a most afforable price. more

For $115 a night, I don't necessarily expect the Waldorf. But we are talking Ecuador here. With that kind of rate, you'd think the place would offer complimentary Internet access, free local phone calls, a decent breakfast, or at least dry off a few articles of wet clothing as a gesture of kindness. Nope. Expect to get charged for every... more

We were a group of 12 who were stopping in Quito before continuing on to the Galapagos. We arrived very late at night and were a bit put off by the narrow, uninviting street, but once the front gate was opened, we were amazed. The garden and entrance to the mansion is beautiful. We were greeted by a very friendly... more

This place is wonderful. The location is ideal, the staff is wonderful and the hotel is absolutely lovely. There were fresh roses in our room each time we stayed (six nights over a period of two weeks) there were also rose petals strewn about the bed and bathroom. There was a hot water bottle placed under the covers at the... more

We stayed here for 4 nights. One night at the start of our honey moon, before the Galapogos and 3 nights after. This hotel hits all the buttons of a classic boutqiue B&B - including the slightly musty smell of genuine family pieces collated over a period of time. The staff are very helpful organising cars to ferry us about... more

We used Mansion del Angel as a stopping off place before and after a dive trip to the Galapagos Islands and the Amazon, staying there a total of 4 nights over 3 weeks. We were a bit leery arriving late the first night when we saw graffetti on a nearby wall and police and security people on all the corners.... more

We were only here for one night, arrived late, then up early the next morning. We were on the third floor which was also where a breakfast was served in a rooftop solarium. As noted by other posters, there is no elevator, but staff assisted us with our luggage. It is a beautiful property, well appointed with amenities. The staff... more

A conversion of a formal and beautiful mansion, this hotel is in a perfect location for activities. It is walking distance to Plaza Foch where all the reataurants and bars are. It is very safe and secure. The rooms are gorgeous and fresh rose petals are strewn on the bed upon your arrival. The bathrooms are large and nicely appointed... more

We stayed here as our first night of an upmarket package. Located on a fairly quiet back street in the newer part of the city (where most of the big hotels are located) it's an extraordinary conversion of an old house (we'd guess about a century old), furnished with antiques in top-quality B&B style. Our room on the top floor... more
