We had a great stay at Hotel Quito, after seeking refuge after leaving the noisy hostal we were staying at. It's in a safe area, walkable to Mariscal (at least during the day), and short cab ride to Old Town. Cabs were always available out front. We stayed in Hotel Quito on a tour of Ecuador and it is located in a decent area within a few mins taxi ride of the old town. The public areas are roomy and light with beautiful dispalys of roses.
