If you want to avoid the big US chain hotels, Los Alpes is for you. It is charming and the proprietors are extremely helpful. The rooms are not fancy, but they had everything we needed. Our only complaint was that we found it hard to find our way to the hotel and often got lost. Of course, that has nothing... More

Been staying at this hotel for many years. It is in a good location and the personnel are more than accommodating. They will get you taxies' for long or short trips. Breakfast is fantastic, eggs anyway. Aging some but it has charm, especially if the fireplace is going.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel is old and in dire need of a refurbishment. However, the rooms were warm and comfortable and the breakfast was good. Good wifi in the lobby but was not working in our room. Location is OK but not great as it is neither in the old town nor in Gringolandia. The... More

Our trip was in June. The bed was very comfortable but since it is winter in Ecuador and the rooms don't have heat, the room stayed cold. The owner was very nice and took our order for breakfast. The breakfast was not the usual continental but were real eggs, great coffee, toast and fresh squeezed juice. The service was awesome.... More

This was our second visit to the hotel. Loved it so much the first time we were very excited to return. The staff were amazing and remembered my husband and I . This is a family run, traditional hotel and we certainly now feel part of the family. The rooms are lovely, all individual in decor and atmosphere. Very clean and... More

A great place where you can feel safe, at home and feel very comfortable. The fireplace in the lobby is absolutely amazing and the service, simply great. They made me feel at home and it became my "home" while in Quito.

Solid rooms and good location. Breakfast very basic. Service not great. Sometimes no one at front desk or around to serve breakfast. Staff also not super helpful with cabs and transportation. I appreciated the mostly quiet rooms and cozy design, but service was substandard at this price.

This is a 1940's elegant mansion which is now a family owned guest house located in the Mariscal and only a short walk from the restaurants at Plaza Foch, the native market, the elegant shops on Juan Leon Mera, El Ejido Park and Mueso Banco Central. Each room is unique and all of the furnishings and decorations are old Quito.... More

2 males,  mid-twenties,  for 3 nights leading up to new years. Experience was good, but not great. The owners and staff appear to be honest and decent people. But the bottom line is that they work in a service industry, and the proper assessment of their service is therefore economic. The question you need to ask before staying at any... More

A great base close to the tram line, places to eat, and an artisan market. Rooms are very spacious. The rooms in the back courtyard are the best and quietest. We really appreciated how accommodating they were in keeping our luggage for free. It was so convenient not to have to leave our bags for the Galapagos when we went... More
