We stayed here before & after our trip to the Galapagos. It's a quaint little place a few blocks from the bigger hotels, Hilton, etc... The rooms were perfect for our needs - no air or heat, which the heat was a little bit of issue for me as I am always cold at night - but there were enough... more

I read lots of great reviews before booking a stay at Los Alpes. My family had come to visit me in Ecuador while I was working there, and Los Alpes seemed to be in a pleasant area, and it sounded like a clean and place with good ambiance. The neighborhood is indeed nice, but the hotel itself gave an overwhelming... more

This is short and sweet: reservation confirmed by Los Alpes on March 30 - cancelled the day before arrival May 29th by e-mail (we were in Peru!) saying they had "technical problems". Beware !!!! more

We used Los Alpes as a stopover for the Galapagos (there and back). We found we were entering an alternative reality once entering the doors and could have been up the mountains in France. This hotel has a unique feel and charm. The service and staff at the hotel were magnificent. When I arrived from Peru I had a tooth... more

Online photos of this hotel do not do it justice. I loved the amazingly quiet, but central location (no motorcycle, dog, or rooster noises like I heard elsewhere in Quito) and the extremely eclectic decor of this family-run hotel. The food was great and I was happy not to have to venture out at night. The little computer room with... more

We liked our room and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel didn't have any maps of the surrounding area so we wound up exploring by foot. It's a bit of a walk to get to a lively area. We had dinner at a local kitchen (to the left of the hotel) where you get a full meal for $1.50!!! more

Before our trip to the Galapagos we stayed 3 days at Los Alpes. The hotel is very quaint and charming. We initially enjoyed our stay. We were able to overlook the scratchy blankets, hit and miss hot water and cold rooms. I had a great triple room that had 2 separate rooms and plenty of space. The rooms became very... more

We always welcome comments from our customers as we care very much about the quality of service we provide. We are a small family hotel that has been in business for over thirty years. There are no hidden charges at Los Alpes and so we have written to the reviewer for more information in this regard. Los Alpes has very...

We stayed at the Hotel Los Alpes for one week and really enjoyed it. Because it’s in a large house (that is beautifully and artistically decorated), it feels more like a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. Also, for the most part, the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. They arranged an excellent driver for us to go to... more

We stayed in the family suite, two bedrooms with a connecting sitting room. The rooms were more than satisfactory and the value was tremendous. Señor Claudio and his staff were always ready to answer our questions and satisfy our every need. We made use of the laundry service, the wireless internet, and even room service (which may not be advertised).... more

We booked Los Alpes because of the high reviews from Trip Advisor. Even though it was adequate I would not have rated it as high. But for the money you pay, the value is good. As two women traveling on our own, we were not comfortable with the area. It is in a nice enough neighborhood but we did not... more
