Casa Gangotena is a beautiful hotel in the historic quarter of Quito. The public areas of the hotel are supremely elegant and the welcome from the staff was spot on. Our room on the second floor was not facing the square, but this was not an issue at all. The room was large, the bed was massive, and the bathroom... More

Casa Gangotena is a lovely hotel in a perfect part of the Old town in Quito. Unfortunatley when we were there for 3 nights at the end of October 2004 they were having renovations. Our room was lovely of a good size with a large bathroom. The air conditioning wasn't working when we got there and it took 24hrs to... More

There are other 5* star hotels in the city of Quito but Casa G is unique and beautiful. Breakfast is an exotic feast that changes daily. Not to be missed. Although the main restaurant and bar on the first floor are being refurbished, the ground floor alternative was more than adequate. Service is warm and friendly throughout this boutique hotel... When you arrive to the hotel, the personalized attention is your welcome. The beds are clouds to sleep in and the restaurant is excellent, all plates were amazing and the service the best. The location is perfect right besides Monasterio San Francisco, the biggest in South America

Obviously the best hotel in Quito with good reason. Beautifully restored colonial structure on the Plaza de San Francisco. All of the staff was extremely competent and friendly and they took care of booking several nice restaurants and tours for us. This is THE place to stay in Quito. Do the chocolate tasting with the sous chef if you can.

Booked into this hotel as part of a trip to the Galapagos. Having just been through Peru this was a excellent hotel to wind down in. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Pristinely clean room and facilities. Food excellent, brilliant location in the old colonial part of Quito. Having no expection or preconceptions of Ecuador this hotel ( amongst other things)... My husband and I stayed for 3 nights recently. The hotel is stunningly renovated and in a fantastic location. If you can afford it try to book a room overlooking the square. Our main gripes were that the library and restaurant were closed for renovation, wifi in our bedroom was very unreliable and we had no hot water in the... More

After seeing this hotel listed as #6 in the world my partner and I booked it for our Quito stay. The King Luxury room was magnificently decorated - with a high ornate ceiling, beautiful murals painted on the walls, complimentary local fruit, thick luxurious curtains, and a spacious marble bathroom with separate bath and a decent shower. The lobby and... More

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, probably the best. I have tried to find something I was not happy with and could only come up with the teapot tops. The service is top notch, very obliging and charming staff. The breakfast is super, as is afternoon tea. These meals are included and always the... More

I purchased this trip package from the PBS auction because it contained a trip to the Galapagos. Little did I realize that the tour was totally created and administered by Metropolitan Touring, who owns this gorgeous hotel. Our rooms (we were there 3 separate times) were spacious, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was large, modern and inviting with shower, tub,... More
