We travel a lot, and we are always seeking a place to stay that "feels" like where we are in the world. Casa Gangotena is a splendidly refurbished historical building in Quito, and they have done an excellent job of meeting the standards of a luxury hotel and still retaining the beauty and charm of the original building. We really... More

I can't praise this hotel high enough! From the arrival in the lobby with cold delicious drinks to our very early checkout where they had made breakfast boxes for us to take with us, it was just Perfect. They even made a special birthday cake for me and put in my room! The view from the terrace had panorama view... More

Everything written about this hotel is true. I rarely accord 5 stars but here it is warranted. Rather than wax lyrical about it, let me jus itemise a few points. 1. Wifi is the best we have seen in a hotel. 2. You must take high tea during 4-6.30pm. It is free for house guests and exceptional. 3. Rather than... More

We've stayed here two nights (four nights apart) and the rooms, facility, and staff were great. The rooms are very nice with great amenities. We enjoyed breakfast both days and they had "comfort food" (food that made my kids comfortable) and traditional Ecuadorian food that allowed my wife and me to try new things. The staff remembered us from our... More

We were fortunate to stay at this wonderful hotel for seven nights, and were upgraded to a corner plaza view room. Every bit deserving of all the accolades it has received, the staff are so friendly and helpful, not at all 'snooty' for such an elegant establishment. The food is the best we've eaten in any south american hotel so... More

We stayed here for five nights over a 2 week period in Quito. This is the most incredible hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed. The property is in Old Town and there are lots of things to do and see right around the hotel. Wagner (the concierge) and the rest of the staff... More

This is a great hotel located in San Francisco square in the old town. The decor and ambiance of the hotel makes you feel you are in a palatial place. We were there whilst the Pope visited and the hotel couldn't have done more to make sure we were looked after. The hotel prices were very reasonable and a lot... More

We were lucky to be upgraded to this beautiful hotel situated in the old town of Quito. Our room was more like a mini apartment with lovely touches like a plate of exotic fruit to try. Afternoon tea was included in the cost and was taken in the delightful lounge area. Breakfast was ample and on the last morning we... More

The Casa Gangnotena is a stellar, sparkling hotel with a courteous and gracious staff. Our family had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Casa Gagnotena for three nights. This hotel is top notch, quiet (only 31 rooms), old world and is elegantly and tastefully decorated. My hat goes off to the exquisite interior decorator and the keen management. In... More

I was only here for lunch today, but will certainly stay on my return. The dinng service , linens, condiments, and guitar musician who started with a wonderful rendition of " blue moon" made this on of my best dining experiences. The public spaces are gorgeous and locatin perfect.
