We spent 2 nights here en route to The Galapagos Islands. From the moment you arrive till the moment you leave, this hotel is amazing in all areas, beautiful rooms, decoration and furnishings. Polite and very helpful staff. Delicious food, including a must have afternoon tea. You really do not want to leave.

My best friend and I stayed at Casa Gangotena for four nights at the end of March/beginning of April 2014. It not only lived up to the great reviews posted on TA, but exceeded them. There are many great things about the hotel. I'll start with the first...unbelievable service. From the doormen to the concierge to the high tea attendant...every... More

Set in old town Quito at Plaza de San Francisco, it epitomizes old world charm, gracious hospitality and comfortable and well appointed rooms. The service is courteous, helpful and impeccable. Restaurant food and service is good. Breakfast buffet and high tea are excellent. Highly recommend to those visiting Quito and exploring the fascinating old city.

During a recent visit to Quito, we had the pleasure of staying at the Casa Gangotena. The property is beautiful, the service is exquisite, and the location perfect. Despite some street noise on the first night (which was Saturday), the remainder of the visit was close to perfect. The buffet breakfast was noteworthy due to the fresh fruits and amazing... More

Every good thing in the other reviews is true about this oasis on the Plaza San Francisco, which has no "hotel" sign. We spent two nights at the beginning of a Tren Crucero trip and two more at the end of our stay. The third floor room had a balcony and was a bit larger that our second floor one,... More

This boutique hotel is very special. I can not imagine a better hotel in Quito. We went with our two children and were treated wonderfully. Breakfast and tea were excellent. Can not speak for the dinner as we went out for dinner to a wonderful restaurant the hotel recommended. We had the only two rooms on the third floor which... More

Although a very small hotel remodeled from a wealthy Spanish family mansion built around WWI, Casa Gangotena meets any standard for luxury world-wide. Because we value quiet, we chose a "Luxury plus" room overlooking a small garden and across to the mountain at the rear of the hotel, rather than one in front. The room was large, with a small... Amazing hotel and service. Very helpful with organizing excursions tailored to our needs. Staff was wonderful. One of the best breakfast buffets we have ever encountered. We had Dinner twice. Food was outstanding. The only thing we missed was a minibar/fridge in the room.

Everything about Casa Gangotena was perfect. The bedroom and bathroom were beautiful and quiet, the service was spot on and the restaurant served fabulous international and local cuisine. The concierge arranged my transportation from the airport to the hotel at midnight (great english speaking driver full of information about Ecuador), an amazing Ecuadorean guide to explore Quito (who, as it... We had a wonderful stay in Quito at this lovely hotel. Staff was attentive and helpful. Breakfast buffet was well done, and the room was spacious and well-appointed. Since we only spent two days in Quito after our Galapagos and Avenue of the Volcanoes adventure, the central location was ideal.
