If you intend to visit Quito and are looking for a central hotel of a high level with all amenities you can expect from a luxury hotel and without the annoyances and nonsense of a luxury hotel, so don't hesitate: stay in the Casa Gangotena. Located in the ancient center of Quito, but in a charming neighborhood. The terrace view... More

My husband and I celebrated my 50th Birthday in Ecuador two weeks ago. We stayed 5 nights in Casa Gangotena and had the most amazing experience. Everything was perfect, the room, the staff, afternoon tea, the location, everything. We could have stayed in the beautiful and extremely comfortable room forever. Each day began with room service breakfast and sitting at... More

We arrived after our flight from the Galapagos to an amazing oasis among the busy, highly traffic congested city of Quito with a daughter in severe head pain and nausea that worsen during the long drive from the airport. Our tour company driver called ahead to request a doctor and a wheel chair as she was nearly passing out. The... More

We are regular travelers, and this hotel still made our top stays list. The hotel is very well located in Quito's lovely historical center. The room was beautifully appointed; the breakfast was perhas the best we had during our three week Peru/Ecuador adventure, and we loved the afternoon tea. The service was superb. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Casa Gangotena must be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. From the moment you arrive you are given personal attention by all staff, from reception to the porters. We had three different rooms, with baroque decor, in our various stays and each looked out to the plaza. There was a lovely platter of exotic fruits in... More

We stayed at the hotel for three nights after flying in from London and then visiting the Galapagos Islands. The hotel was lovely and the staff were delightful. We had rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking the plaza which was a great view but meant the mornings were quite noisy! The hotel was really well located for visiting... More

Dear Goldfish London, Thank you very much for your review, Iam very happy to know how much you enjoyed your time with us, and your adventures in family discovering colonial Quito with Julio. I regret that you found our Plaza rooms too noisy, and have made a note to see how could we improve the acoustic isolation. All the Best... More

We stayed checked-in to Casa Gangotena two different times on our trip to Ecuador. The first time was when we first arrived in Ecuador (for three nights) and the second was after we took a cruise in the Galapagos and then flew back to Quito as a stopping-off point from the Galapagos to the Cloud Forest (for one night). We... More

Recently stayed twice during a trip to Ecuador. When we arrived very late on our first night we were greeted with sandwiches and tea. The experience continued to wow us with beautiful accommodations, afternoon tea, drivers always available, service. All comes with a price but we felt completely spoiled. You can find much cheaper accommodations but our experience only added... More

This place is very central and stunning. The rooms are large, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights on the way to the rainforest and were spoilt here. Good food, great service and a great position made for a great start to our holiday.

Catching up on some reviews... Our family stayed here for 2 nights in 2/2014. The location is fabulous (couldn't be better in the Old Town on one of the main plazas). The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are large, comfortable, and well-appointed. The service was lovely. The (included) breakfast was delicious...and they even made us breakfast boxes for our super-early flight... More
