I would highly recommend staying at La Casa Amarilla whilst visiting Quito. The house is beautifully decorated. The bedroom was clean and the bathroom was very modern. A lovely and plentiful breakfast at 8:30 am gives you a chance to meet other interesting travelers. Jenny is very kind and spent a good half an hour describing the best sights to... More

What a wonderful place to call home when we were in Quito. We discovered this gem on tripadvisor when we were looking for a place to stay while we went to the US Embassy to renew our passports. We live in Cotacachi, a couple of hours north of Quito and have the need to occasionally visit Quito. After reading the... More

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at La Casa Amarilla for a few nights. Everything was great, specially our welcoming host Jenny. All the guests have breakfast together so it was fun to meet other travelers. The room was clean and very very nice. I am originally from Quito but I live abroad and was very happy to see the... When I first arrived at La Casa Amarilla I met the owner Jenny. She gave me a tour of the casa and I mentioned how beautiful her home is. She was quick to correct me that this was in fact my home while I am in Ecuador. This sentiment is the feeling you get while you are here, Jenny is... More

I stayed at the place with my friends and we had the best time all thanks to the owner of the place who was really sweet and friendly. The best thing about the hotel is that it is located in a quiet area of quito giving you a comfortable sleep away from all noises. At the same time it is... More

As I work in the tourism industry, I have stayed in many different hotels around the world. I can't say enough great things about the incredible value and level of service at La Casa Amarilla. From the lovely room and modern private bathroom, to Jenny's warm welcome and 100% commitment to making sure I had everything I needed. She even... More

We received nothing but 5-star service in this colorful and lively inn. The luxurious down comforter, alone, made us feel like Queens! We had taxis ordered, tour recommendations, and restaurant recommendations better than most top hotels offer. Breakfast was filling and delightfully shared with several other guests. On our last night, the neighbor was celebrating with a loud party. Jenny... More

I'm originally from Ecuador and my wife from Canada. We stayed for about a week there and we felt like we were at home around our family. Jenny (owner and manager) is very friendly, loving, helpful and hospitable. The breakfast are healthy and helped us to stay good for at least the whole morning. Wifi works great everywhere in the... My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. Our room was very large, with en suite. The house itself, is set within a bolted, highly secure gate and only a $1-2 cab ride from old-town/ $25-27 to the airport. Bed was comfortable, bedding warm and cosy, small but powerful electric heater, hot powerful shower, unlimited hot drinks (which you'll... More

Mom and I stayed at Casa Amarilla about a week ago for one night. The house is really lovely - just has wonderfully colorful and ecclectic decor, that brings you a sense of joy. What adds to that is the warm and lovely hostess, Jenny, who treats you like a member of family. Staying at Casa Amarilla really does feel... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
“La Casa Amarilla,” built in 1948, is one of the last buildings of Modern Quito that survived the urban modernization movement. The building conserves the history of its era, which we remember fondly in Quito, a city declared by UNESCO as the first “World Heritage Site” Conveniently located in the modern sector of Quito in a safe and peaceful residential area, La Casa Amarilla offers a perfect jumping off point to move about the city. In a ten minute car ride you can arrive at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport or the historical center of Quito. In a 25 minute (2 km) walk, you will encounter numerous tourist attractions such as “La Zona Rosa,” located in La Mariscal, the city cable car “El TeleferiQo,” various community parks, and the financial and commercial districts of Quito. The Trolley and Metrobus lines are located very close to the house and several regular bus routes pass nearby taking you to any destination within the city limits. ... more   less
