Worth the trip, stay 1-2 nights. Walk up Cotopaxi- a challenge but very rewarding. Met some awesome people! Great hot tub to enjoy. Take the hike to water fall and take pics with the llamas! Bring a book and read in the hammock while watching the clouds move over Cotopaxi.

Some hostels are successful on their own merits, this stunningly situated spot is more like an alpine ski lodge than a backpackers. With all the (very tasty) meals included and some breathtaking hikes on offer this place simply cannot fail to impress. With a big comfy sitting room and a hot tub with arguably the best view in Ecuador this... More

The Secret Garden Cotopaxi was quite possibly my favorite hostel that I stayed in during my two months of travel in Ecuador. The atmosphere in the hostel is extremely chill and friendly. Between the big, comfy couches, the hammocks, and the hot tub overlooking Cotopaxi, it is impossible to feel stressed! The volunteers working while we stayed were helpful and... More

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. You have an awesome view on the cotopaxi volcano, the are is beautiful, staff very friendly and helpful, food (inluded in the price) is great and the rooms/private cabanas are cosy and clean. I had one of the most relaxed stays ever and would go back. However, there are... More

Decided to spend 2 nights at the hostel and had an amazing time. Although the dorm was $39 per night the hostel (if you can even call it that) was incredible. Its like a big cabin set in the countryside. All meals and snacks included and the food was great. Super nice place to relax and sit on super comfy... More

such a fab place to stay, stunning views, lovely staff, completely chilled! I'd highly recommend it. We stayed for 3 nights in the honeymoon lodge, nice to have a private bathroom, amazing views of Cotopaxi and so cosy with the log burner going! All food was provided as you are literally on your own. Food was yummy and plenty of... More

Stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it immensely, fantastic views of Cotopaxi from my cabana that I will never forget, the food was good and the staff were first class, I want to mention in particular Jennifer the volunteer from Germany who was one of the guides on our climb to Pasachoa she was very helpful and a great... I've backpacked around 30 countries so far, and this has to be one of the best hostels in the world. Fantastic spot, the staff are top notch and the communal atmosphere is great. All meals are included, there are no hidden fee and they offer great hiking / tours. Highly recommend if you're in South America!

This is a hostel unlike any other. In the middle of nowhere with a perfect view of Cotopaxi, has to be seen to be believed. The staff are so welcoming, thank you Victor and Maria! Ignore the cost it's worth a few extra dollars for the place and wonderful home cooked food. I loved going to sleep with a fire... More

We spent 3 days and 2 nights in Secret Garden Cotopaxi. A time we wil never forget! The food is great: 3 meals a day, homemade cake and coffee all day. The views are breathtaking (at 6 am we had a stunning view of Cotopaxi), the atmosphere in the hostal is nice. As there is no internet, people are just... More
