We stayed 2 nights. This is a quirky spot. it is hard to describe the funky decor. We were put in one room that had a stone tile sunken bath, and then they moved us to another, presumably better room with a beaten copper bath. There are odd pieces, lamps, chairs, sideboards and closets throughout both rooms. While we were... More

Hands down, the best restaurant I tried in 21 days in Ecuador. It's high above Quito in the mountains with an amazing view of the valleys. It's rustic, but chic at the same time. It's quite pricey, even by American standards, but worth every penny. We ate our afternoon big meal there and for two of us with appies, drinks... More

Hacienda Rumiloma is absolutely BEAUTIFUL - breathtaking really!! My husband and I and our 2 girls stayed here last week for 3 nights - 1 night on the front end of our trip and 2 nights on the back end of our trip so stayed in 2 different rooms. The hotel has 7 different suites ranging in size and bed... More

We just returned from our trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands and our stay at Rumiloma for our last two nights was quite disappointing. Perhaps our expectations were high, as our stay at four other places (Casa Aliso, Galapagos Safari Camp, Beluga cruise, Ali Shungu Mountain Lodge) was truly superb and we were hoping our last two days at... We stayed at Hacienda Rumiloma for 5 nights in all - 3 at the beginning of our time in Ecuador, 1 in the middIle of our trip, and 1 night just before we left the country. The staff were gracious, kind and so accommodating, the location is quiet and serene, llamas were interesting, the rooms are meticulously decorated with authentic... More

I had read the New York Times feature and booked Hacienda Rumiloma for a few nights on our trip back from the Galapagos Islands. The stay met our expectations in every way. What a beautiful location! It's hard to believe you're still in Quito when you're perched up in the lush volcanic mountains with llamas, horses and peacocks roaming around.... More

My husband and I landed in Quito for our second stop in Ecuador. We read a feature in the New York Times recommending the restaurant at Hacienda Rumiloma, and after seeing the website we booked a room. When we got there, we found ourselves in one of the most beautiful rooms we'd ever stayed in. However the experience didn't nearly... More

Thanks for your review. I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, but I have only just figured out how to post an owner response. I must admit that I am a bit technologically challenged. ;-) My name is Amber and I am the owner of Rumiloma. I am glad you enjoyed your time... More

Was in Quito for business for a few days and some friends took me to Hacienda Rumiloma for dinner. It's an adventure getting up to Rumiloma as it is way above Quito on the side of the Volcano Pichincha on a steep dirt road but that is part of the fun. We arrived right before dark so were able to... More

If you want a quite place, pinned against the mountains with stunning views of Quito stay or at least have dinner at hacienda Rumiloma. We stayed at various hotels in Quito and Rumiloma is way better than any other place. It is close to the airport ( 15 minutes), the telepherico and the old town but you feel you are... More
