I went there with my family for dinner. The place is pretty, old style but pretty. Staff are OK, not bad not good either. We ordered Mar y Tierra, the best part was the steak. A good bottle of wine and the cheapest one at the same time, it was 50$. This is the best part, the view, the restaurant,... More

We stayed at Rumiloma 2 nights and overall were quite satisfied with our choice. The bottom line of Rumiloma is it is an excellent quiet upscale but somewhat rustic alternative to staying in the city. You will pay for this opportunity however. The hotel is a beautiful quiet location, something that is impossible to find farther down in Quito. You... More

Just a few minutes and maybe a mile outside the city streets of Quito is this amazing place. It beautiful, wild, and seems to be from a different time. I cannot accurately describe the feeling as you drive out of the urban grit of Quito and up the dirt then cobblestone drive of Hacienda Rumiloma. It is literally a magical... More

Hacienda Rumiloma isn’t hell, but it’s not exactly the paradise all those glowing reviews would have you believe. (1) LOCATION: I’m as much of a pushover for llamas as the next person, and the views of Quito are stunning. The remote location WAS a problem for us, not so much for the cab ride downtown (more like $15 than the... More

Thank you so much for your review. We always appreciate hearing from our guests. I will respond to your points in order: 1. I am sorry that you weren’t happy with our location. I hate to disagree, but the other guests were indeed right about the cab fair- by law, all Ecuadorian taxis have a “taximeter” which calculates distance. In... More

Amazing! Stayed our last night in Ecuador at this hotel. Wished we could have stayed more. The hotel is beautiful. The grounds have amazing views of the city, with lamas and peacocks grazing peacefully. The hotel is only $6 taxi from Old Town which makes it a great base to explore the city from. My wife and I were lucky... More

Very special place, excellent service. Very attentive to your needs. Especially, Abigail, she works at the front desk. She learned that I was cold, she prepared hot water bags to put in my bed. I was not feeling well due to altitude sickness, she brought hot tea to calm my stomach. Foods are delicious, I love their peach muffins !

Gorgeous small boutique hotel with great views of the City of Quito. Quiet and peaceful setting, yet only a 10/15 min (depending on traffic) $7 cab ride to the historic center of Quito. Beautiful rooms full of character and attention to detail. Our room had a huge bouquet of red roses when we arrived, the fire place was lit, there... More

This hacienda sits at about 11,000 feet overlooking Quito. Our cab driver was unable to make it to the top, but carried our bags up for us! We were greeted by a top notch staff that helped us with all of our needs! Special thanks to Carolina and Julio! We also had dinner and the food was excellent. The décor... More

This small inn is perfectly situated overlooking Quito. You are basically in the city but feel like you are well away from the noise and pollution. Beautiful views, day and night and outrageously lovely service. Oh, and llamas. It may seem like you are too far out of Quito, but its a $5-$10 cab ride into town so don't let... More

After spending eight days on a thrilling but tiring tour of the Galapagos Islands, Hacienda Rumiloma provided the perfect setting for some serious rest and relaxation before returning the reality of life in the United States. From the original e-mail communications with Amber confirming our stay back in April, to the warm greeting provided by Carolina when we arrived, every... More
