We needed a hotel in Quito after our trip to the Galapagos and stayed at Rumiloma for the night before our flight back to the states. The hotel is perched way above the city and offers the most amazing views of the city without the noise of the city. A fabulous re-entry experience. The beauty of the surroundings, both interior... We made our way through the city, high up into the mountains on narrow cobblestone streets as the rain drummed onto the tin roofs. The little yellow taxi sputtered to a stop at the highest ascension, and off we went on foot through the cool mist. At the peak, we were greeted by llamas, peacocks, and Tibetan flags gliding off... Travelled from Cusco to Quito for two nights before heading off to the Galapagos. It is remote, high, secluded and absolutely gorgeous! We were greeted by two peacocks that were soon followed by two llamas, who were then followed by the manager! We had asked for the family suite as we were traveling with our two children. Unfortunately, I had... More

After a trip to the Galapagos a friend and I spent our last night and morning at Rumiloma before heading back to the U.S. It was quite a journey getting there from the airport through some pretty rough parts of Quito and up a steep, bumpy road. We were worried we'd made a big mistake. But when we arrived, all... More

Stayed at Rumiloma in the fall. Beautiful hotel a little rustic but that's what they're going for Huge rooms with lots of windows antique furnishings right down to the copper bath tub. They light a fire for you so your room is warm when you arrive and and you get a hot water bottle for your bed. The breakfasts were... More

I travel fairly frequently and have yet to find a hotel that I more enjoyed staying in. No pool, no spa, no fitness center, but all this is compensated for an incredible hotel with 7 very charming rooms, a great restaurant and bar. food and service are world class. Perfect for honeymooners, etc.

This is a little gem. Very romantic, beautiful buildings, beautifully furnished. Very reasonable. It does not get much better than this. Sef contained. Scenic vistas can't be topped. Would definitely recommend this as the place to stay in Quito.

We loved our two nights at Hacienda Rumiloma and couldn’t recommend it more. Both the hotel and restaurant are fabulous, with top-class service, gorgeous décor and a fantastic view over Quito. The hotel was built only 8 years ago, but was built to look old and they did a fantastic job with exposed beams and stone. The entire hotel is... More

Awesome views of mountains towering above and lights of Quito shimmering below, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, quiet and comfortable with beautiful and unique furnishings from around the world, great food made with family recipes...I look forward to returning some day. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The contrast between the mountain huts where I staying during my climbing trip in Ecuador and Rumiloma during the days in Quito couldn't be bigger. What a fantastic place, beautiful, unique rooms, very friendly staff and lovely food! I am looking forward returning here but I will ensure that my travel companion suits the romantic venue better than my climbing... More
