My wife and I(and another couple) stayed at the Grand Gervasoni for 5 days in November 2014. The Gervasoni is a restored mansion full of antiques and historic charm. If you are looking for a hotel that is modern you probably won't like this hotel, but if you enjoy historic things you would enjoy this hotel. The staff at the... More

The service, and cleanliless has a lot about to say. The bathroom in our room was filthy, I found a chewing gum inside the bed! Also poorly decorated. In the morning the breakfast table was full of flies. The only good thing I have to say about the hotel is the restaurant downstairs, Pasta e Vino.

This was a beautiful old hotel that had been refurbished into a Grand old dame. The rooms were elegant, mine had an ensuite bath. Many had balcony's overlooking the harbor. Staff were very gracious and spoke English, they were helpful and willing to answer any questions. Breakfast was plentiful and a nice mix of european and american style. My only... More

The owner told me they took 3 years renovating this huge house, history of Valparaiso's architecture. Room is comfortable and bathroom spotlessly clean! Breakfast was delicious and we received a welcome drink and discount for diner at the gourmet restaurant Pasta y Vino. We can see that every detail is thought with care. Totally recommend.

Everything was great, the place.. Room instalations and hosters! While there is a process of reconstruction of the streets in the nearby it's no a big deal. Car was parked arround the hotel, without problems! The area is very secure and there are many places to visit by walking, since a variety kind of restorant, art places, coffee shops and... More

A lot of the aspects about this hotel were fantastic, others were not so positive. POSITIVES: the location and the view. The hotel looks over the bay and the port of Valparaiso, which is not the most pretty because of the ships that are docked there, but that is the "encanto" of the city. The oldest elevator is located just... More

A (surprinsingly) very bad service ruines a beautiful place We celebrated our marriage anniversary reserving a table for 2 at one of Valparaiso's fanciest restaurants "Pasta e VIno". Due to some arrangements on the street where this restaurants usually is, all it's staff is serving on the restaurant of "Hotel Gervasoni". Since we had to spend the night on Valparaíso... More

If you are the kind of person that enjoy to stay in modern looking and feeling hotels, this is not the place for you. As the description says, this was an old Valparaiso family house, later converted in hotel. My wife and I loved the location and furniture.

I had high expectations for this hotel, but it didn't quite make it on the memorable scale. The staff are friendly and the view from the room is nice, but the hotel rooms are tired and old making them not as comfortable as one would hope. Unfortunately, the bathroom in my room was super small where even I could barely... More

We really sorry about the situation occurred. The service staff is always available to help address any issues that may arise. The building is from 1870 , and everything is set in that time, therefore the furniture, decoration, design and details preserve the historical aspect, but without losing comfort, so all the beds are double king size or twins size... Gervasoni is a beautiful hotel, charming and with character. It ss family owned, and the perfect spot for those who want to visit Valparaiso for a couple of days. Perfect location, walking distance to many bars, restaurants, and the pretty little streets of Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción.
