Valparaiso is a magical town and this hotel is sprinkled with fairy dust! Getting there is exciting as there are small steep roads to traverse. As you step through the door, the friendly, antique strewn rooms embrace and welcome. The hotel is a beautifully restored house perched on the side of one of Valparaiso's 41 hills. There are stairs to... More

This property is quaint and charming. That being said...there are some pitfalls that we were mislead about. We were told we had reserved suites but these were hardly regular hotel rooms. DO NOT PLAN TO PARK A CAR HERE. They told us there was limited parking behind the hotel. Thats true except it is impossible to find a spot that... More

We enjoyed a 3-night stay at the Gervasconi. Located high above the town of Valparaiso with views of the harbour. An old victorian home turned in to a very nice boutique hotel. One wall in our room had original stone work, 2-3 stairs led up to the bathroom and we had a small balcony. Winding hallways and stairways made this... More

We stayed at Hotel Gervasoni for three nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a small boutique one with only 14 rooms, we had teh top floor loft room which afforded us a nice breeze at night and woke to the sounds of the seagulls early in the morning. GThe views are not spectacular since the harbor has been... More

The Hotel Gervasoni is at the top of a funicular and has a great view of the city. It is a colorful, quirky hotel with a friendly staff in an old building. Breakfasts are fine. I has a small single room with a view overlooking a back street; the room was so small that there was no place to open... More

It is not easy accessible from the road. It is full of character as a boutique hotel. A little Fawlty Towers like experience. Ensure that you do not have the room downstairs that is on the street. As there is no air conditioning you need to open the windows. The window opens onto the street, it does have bars but... More

This is a small hotel on the side of the hills which has charm and clean rooms. As the door is about a short city block from the road, it should not be considered easily accessible if that is important. Our room was front on the top floor (up about 15 narrow, steep steps from the lobby) but was large... More

The Hotel Gervasoni in Valparaiso was a lovely place - the terrace has a lovely outlook. Its full of character. We had fairly small rooms that overlooked the street below with little Juliette balconies a nice feature. However, we were robbed - in our room within 10 minutes of arriving. Here's the story for anyone interested. When we arrived, I... More

We had left the tribute to Faulty Towers in Gervasoni where it has become apparent that their policy is to overcharge for substandard rooms and service. The Hotel: • Promised a view and didn't give it to 1st two nights. They rushed us into back rooms which smelt & were noisy. There was zero acknowledgement of this prior commitment, nor... More
