We really liked this hotel, it has friendly staff and a very central location in Valparaiso. You just step out the front door into a small pedestrian mall and there is lots of shopping, cafes and restaurants in the nearby streets, a bus and trolley car stop next door and a short walk to the train station. This was the most terrible hotel I've ever stayed at! Though this hotel is rated as a 4-star, it was inadequate in every way. The room was very noisy, the beds uncomfortable, the staff incompetent and the breakfast was inedible. I would very strongly advise against staying in this hotel. more
Everyone at Hotel Puerta de Alcala went out of their way to make my two-stay stay in Valaparaiso go smoothly. The hotel is small, with rooms built around an interior central core.
