This charming boutique hotel has a perfect location, with a restaurant and terrace overlooking the hills and port of Valparaiso. The rooms are trendy and lovely, with most also having the same views as the terrace. All the amenities are provided The hotel is in a perfect place for wandering about Valparaiso and near the funicular that goes to the... More

Really fun to stay there. the building was rebuilt from old buildings creatively morphing modern with the old, on a hillside so we went down to get to our room. The building materials are lovely, old floors, old wood trim, old plaster walls, slate /tile, and a view of Santiago that's unbeatable. You can eat there too, in a restaurant... More

We decided to fly from SFO and spend two nights in Valparaiso prior to driving to Santa Cruz. This hotel is in a good location with a great restaurant up top. Nice views and really terrific staff. We had a problem with our rental car --Carlos and Gonsalvo really went out of their way to help us. Great breakfast in... More

Was our 1 night pre-cruise stayover...challenging if you have a lot of luggage (2 week cruise!!) Rooms are small, no elevator but the atmosphere is wonderful. Our room faced the ...although a pedestrian... walkway , it was often noisy. The rooftop restaurant was so great... The staff was always friendly, and they even tried so hard to recover some items... This small charming hotel was a perfect choice for our short Valpo-stay. The view from the balcony of the hotel is unbeatable and it is located in the middle of cerro Conception. The room was rough in the good way and answer the demands of a guest who use it only for a night sleep. Clean of course. The breakfast... More

We loved Fauna Hotel! It's very rustic, yet chic. The location is great; very central to everything. There are lots of stairs and no lift, but the staff are happy to help with luggage. The staff are also very helpful and answered many questions for us. A generous breakfast is provided, with table service, which is nice. We are vegan,... More

Can't believe earlier reviewers whinge about parking....Fauna is in the Old City and makes for a fantastic watering hole for happy Trekkers doing a Valparaiso walking tour. The hotel is actually a skip from Reina Victoria, one of the few remaining Ascensors (cable lift) still operating in Valparaiso. The view from the cafe/restaurant deck is superb. Sit here enjoying a... More

We arrived in Valparaiso not knowing what to expect. The hotel was recommended to us by my partners daughter...we were not disappointed. Whilst Valparaiso city it eclectic and took a while to warm to, we felt quite comfortable at the Hotel Fauna. The greeting was warm and friendly and the check in process held no problems - we speak only... More

Hotel Fauna was fantastic and even might be one of my favorite hotels ever. It's a big statement as my wife and I travel a good deal, and we have lived in many places too (NYC, Toronto, Boston, DC, London etc), but if you want a funky (very cool interior design) hotel that is convenient to everything with a mind-blowing... Dear Jonathan, Thank you so much for your comment. We can note you really enjoyed your stay at Fauna, what is very important for us. All our rooms are very "funky" each one with a unique painting of differents city artists. All rooms shows the mixture between the heritage architecture and a modern and simply style. On the building roof... More

Spent a couple of days here and despite the miserable weather, it was a well located place to stay and eat. The rooms are minimalist but warm and comfy; restaurant offers great food and views. Lots of other eating options close by, central for walking the winding streets and lanes, close to a funicular for easy return at the end... More

Dear, Thanks for your comment, we are really glad in knowing you enjoyed your stay at Fauna Hotel Restaurant. About our location, we are just in the middle of many restaurants, coffes and design and souvenir stores. Just some stepts outside of the principal Hotel entrance we have the Reina Victoria Fonicular which is open from 8:00 am to 23:00... More
