My girlfriend and I spent three nights here over the 2015 New Year. I have to say this was one of my most memorable hostel experiences. The hostel is centrally located 1 minute from Cumming Street, 5 minutes from plaza sotomayor, and smack in the middle of great street art on one of the safest and cultural hills filled with... More

Beautiful hostel with comfortable hangout area, good wifi, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Lots of personality in the decoration, furniture, murals etc. Excellent breakfast and a very clean and cosy room. Definitely great value for money.

While taking a really nice breakfast - fruit salad, yogurt and cereals, etc - Fernando, the owner, was painting the door and teaching me how to do it in the right way. He is very attentive person, as all of the people working there. The house is awesome. I stayed in a single room with BIG windows, lighting lamps and... More

I've been twice in this hostel and i really enjoyed it. If youre coming to Valparaiso to find luxury, this is not the place for you. But if you are searching for a cozy hostel, i recommend you the Girasoles Hostal. The location half way up to Cerro Alegre is practical, the house is older than 100 years and equipped... More

Stayed in February 2014. Dirty bathrooms with broken sinks. Unhelpful and unwelcoming personal. Low hygienic standards - at breakfast one can find a fly in milk. Staff like to use hostel's facilities for their socializing. Feo!

Valparaiso is so cool, so different, so warm (hot even). My son is living there for the year and through a friend of a friend found this boutique hotel for us to stay at during our visit. He did real well. If you are looking for Hyatt or Hilton, don't go to Valpo at all. But if you want an... More

This is a nice hostel with reasonable prices. I stayed in the shared dorm room with bunk beds, and have only every traveled with friends or family, where we had the room to ourselves. I found the beds to be warm and comfortable. Breakfast is included, it certainly won't fill you up but it's a nice addition.

Very friendly, educated and helpful owners and workers - taking care about the hostal and guests, giving advices concerning places worthy to see, Fine breakfasts are included in price of the room. It was a little bit cold in room during winter. Hostal "Sunflowers" (the name from van Gogh's painitng) is located in the center of the old part of... More
