After staying two nights at this hotel, I was inspired to read recent reviews and found to my amusement, many remarks by the management insisting that the hot water problem reported by others had been fixed. This is not true. Instead, amusing signs are placed in the bathroom, explaining that they have 'recently' installed a solar hot water system and... More

The owner Ed is a great guy, very accomodating. Gives you a printed itinerary of what to do/see in Valpo. Staff is awesome. Met some great people there, one even tagged along on our trip to Vina. Common room is very cool, chill, atmosphere. Solid location.

I stayed here for 2 nights. Breakfast was excellent. The staff at the reception is very helpful. There are nice restaurants not far from this B&B. The room I stayed in was basic, has a small TV and heater inside. The bed was comfy, that was all I needed. I recommend this place to anyone visit Val.

Great location in Cerro Alegre near plenty of recommended restaurants and locations. Staff were super helpful always and even held our bags for us for a night after check out as we went to Maitencillo for the night with no problems. Breakfast is one of the best you will get at a hostel with scrambled eggs and ham, toast, mini... More

Andrew Thank you so much for you lovely review. We're really please that you enjoy your stay at our hostel and you like the breakfast with our tea shop El Arbolito de Te. Its very kind that you mention the problem with the skylight wich let us know of the light comming early morning, for that matter we're looking the... More

This is a great hostel. The large room had a flat screen TV, was heated, and very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was great (with fresh juice each morning). The only downside is low water pressure in the shower, but I can live with that. As far as hostels go, this is one of the... More

First, I have to disagree with the previous review of the staff, they were the best part of the stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing maps of the city and ideas of attractions to see. Oh, also the location was wonderful - right in the middle of Cerro Alegre, close to lots of restaurants. It was the... More

Sarah Thank you for writing a review for our Hostel. I'm trully sad to hear all the problems that you had by staying with us, specially because I was able to change the problems into a solution, for now on we're not going to allow smokers in the indoor patio, as well as noise in the reception. Regarding the hot... More

I booked this hotel in Valpo after reading the recommendation in the 2012 Chile Lonely Planet guide. I now regret having done so. When I go to this kind of accommodation (sort of owner run bed & breakfast style) I expect to receive a friendly and personalised treatment. After all, this is one of the reasons why you don't go... Previously called Hostal Nomadas (as seen in the lonely planet guide), Hostal Cerro Alegre is a clean accommodation right in the middle of the street-art sector and is itself packed with the lively artistic creations of the house maestro. Location and building aside, it's the staff that makes this place really special - from the Argentinian chefs which run the... More

We stumbled upon this hostel by chance and I was very happy with my decision to stay there. The hostel is beautifully decorated, most of the artwork was done by the previous owners. The rooms are decorated simply but nicely, they offer all amenities; a lounging area, kitchen, dining room, breakfast room, showers, and breakfast. I have to say it... More
