We spent one night pre-cruise in this delightful hotel, located on a quiet street on one of Valpariso's hills. The hotel is a great mix of old and modern. Beautiful hardwood floors, old fashioned furnishings, but with a very open concept in the public areas. We splurged and stayed in a room with it's own terrace with wonderful views of... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel Boutique Acontraluz. First of all, if you are looking for a boutique experience, this is not. It is a bed and breakfast "hotel" with a very expensive price tag. The smallest lowest priced rooms are over $200. The rooms with a view top $400. We loved the hill neighborhood and choices of... More

A lovely boutique hotel in a good location with superb views of Valparaiso. Very welcoming, it has a calm, peaceful and relaxed atmosphere and it was a great place to finish up our trip to Chile and wind down after our busy programme. The room although not big was very comfortable and well appointed with a good bathroom and it... More

After a long flight from the UK and a car journey of around an hour and a half from Santiago airport, it was a real relief to be dropped off at Hotel Acontraluz. The front desk staff of this small boutique hotel were very helpful and attentive and the property itself is fascinating. The location was excellent for exploring the... More

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location in Valparaiso. It is a hotel that would appeal to people who are interested in old architecture and houses as the hotel was created from 2 old houses. The furnishings go with the era of the house and there is not air conditioning.. The views from the balcony rooms over the... More

The folllowing review takes into account cost/value ratio and level of expectations. Don't get me wrong. The hotel wasn't bad. The front desk staff (esp Natalie ) were very helpful and attentive. The location was good for Cerro Alegre. Complimentary coffee/tea/bottled water were a nice touch. Breakfast was satisfactory. Very nice views of the harbor from the common balcony area... More

If you are lucky in this life, take the opportunity to go to Valparaiso, Chile… And when you do be sure to stay high atop the streets up on the hill amidst the shops and neighborhood restaurants at this little hotel. It is one of my favorite boutique hotels of all time… The Decor inside feels like a Swiss chalet... More

I decided to stay at Hotel Boutique Acontraluz after reading reviews on trip advisor, we were not disappointed. We spent 2 nights there after flying in from Sydney to Santiago and before we boarded a 14 day cruise I did have a hotel pick up organised but the driver had a minor accident and was not there at Santiago airport... Simple, elegant, nothing too much trouble for the staff. The hotel is uphill from the port area and therefore had fantastic views- in fact too easy to sit on the terrace enjoying the views over the bay and vina del mar without going outside! I opted for not paying for this view and was very happy with looking out over the... More

We had a most pleasant stay here. The reception staff (particularly Paloma) was extremely friendly and helpful, providing maps for us to explore of Valparaiso, and suggesting nearby eating places. Breakfast was included and the wait staff were very earnest in remembering our coffees each morning - a nice touch. Our room on the second floor, was well appointed and... More
