Simply but cozy hostal, in the middle of the main Cerro, nice breakfast where you can get togheter with the other travelers. We only had a little problem with the hot water at the first night, but it was fixed. I recomend ;)

Valparaiso is surprising mainly because it is built on several hills. The Luna Sonrisa is right in the middle of the birth of the town. It was a chalenge to push my heavily loaded bike to find this hostal BUT it was worth it! My room was small but perfect and clean. The place was quiet and really well maintained.... More

chose valpo to study spanish as not keen on big cities like santiago. picked lunasonrisa for position most of the way up Cerro Alegre , on a street which does not get a lot of traffic and near to restaurants on almirante montt. liked the staff, and the guests, had some great (and silly talks) in the kitchen. sometimes for... This is my fifth visit to Valparaiso, a magical city that is for me one of my favorite places in the world. I have stayed four times in El Nido, an apartment with the privacy of a duplex with a kitchen and a bathroom that has a view of the city ... that day and night makes me feel at... More

We booked the matrimonial room and we ended up in a very small room, very dark with a small window on the very noisy street. It was not at all like in the pictures. I've been sick in the afternoon so we went to see a doctor, with no phone to reach the hostal to say that we wanted to... More

Let me start by saying that we always try our best to satisfy our guests’ needs and help them to have a happy stay with us while they explore our wonderful city but sometimes this is just not possible. You arrived early in the afternoon and we showed you to your room. At some point soon after, you came to... More

We had a good stay here and would stay here again in a heartbeat. We booked for two nights and ended up staying seven. It's a hostel, not a hotel, so it's not plush--but it's clean, comfortable, convenient, and comes with friendly, helpful people who run the place. We stayed in a double room at the front and had a... We had a great stay at Luna rosa… we intended to stay 2nights, but ended up staying longer. We did get quite lucky, because the two of us had the whole dorm to ourselves for the whole time. The location is great for looking around the best bits of the city. The staff, Julia, Alex and Susan were all really... More

We stayed in the double room at the front of the property. It was musty and dirty. The breakfast was nice but basic. Overall the cost is not justified. The other reviews for this hostel seem to be misleading.

My room was right by the general area which was comfy but noisy if you are a late sleeper. The plus is the bathroom is close. The staff were for the most part friendly and helpful, and the location of the hostel is near a lot cool places, with the murals everywhere! Best thing is it's relatively safe at night... More

They have a five bed dorm with a loft, so unless you have the bed right by the door, there's quite a bit of privacy in the dorm, plus no bunks! Each bed has a reasonable sized locker. There's not a ton of common space - just the kitchen and two small seating areas. Breakfast has fresh fruit and good... More
