I stayed at the Foresta from 13-17 October 2014. The hotel itself was fine, a bit shabby and old-fashioned (decor) but friendly staff and nice twin room. It gets 4 stars due the location/price. Good points: Helpful friendly staff - it's useful if you have basic Spanish (useful everywhere in Chile!), but some English spoken. Very convenient for metro (Bellas... More

I stayed at the Foresta Hotel in Santiago for a few nights when speaking at an event. The hotel is definitely an older building with few modern amenities; my room had only 2 power outlets and the lighting was fairly poor, and the rooms are heated with radiators. If you don't mind the "old world" feel, like a hotel that... More

I've been staying at the Foresta every year since 2008. You can't beat the location right in the heart of the Barrio Lastarria- full of good restaurants, theater, nightlife and right at the foot of the Sta Lucia Hill. This is where you want to be in Santiago. The rooms are very comfortable . You can get a nice little sitting... More

The location could not be better. It is within walking distance of many of restaurants, museums, nightlife. It is an old hotel (originally an apartment building) so if you are expecting modern amenities you won't find them here, although they do have free wifi. The rooms are clean and quaint. The staff was wonderful. The free breakfast is fine but... More

Can't beat the location in Santiago's very cool Lasstaria barrio, and across the street from one of the best parks in the city. A few blocks away from museums and Rose's Emporium for ice cream The bed was firm, the cloud wall paper charming, great wifi reception. Breakfast was adequate and served upstairs over looking the park. The staff is... More

The hotel and its furniture is really old, my room had a humidity smell and the sheets of my bed had cigarette burns so I prefered to sleep fully clothed The walls and doors are thin so you can hear the noise from outside like the staff cleaning in the morning; if you stay in a room at the sixth... A real blast from the past in an unbeatable location. The city centre as well as Bella Vista and the charming Lastaria street are all literally around the corner. The hotel is old and you notice this, but it compensates this generously with charm and service. The staff are friendly, there's no computer in sight and everyone makes you feel... More

The hotel has an amazing location, rooms have just been renovated and the staff is super nice. Nonetheless I was placed in the 6th floor; meanwhile they are remodeling the 7th floor and construction is going on daily which basically left me in a very noisy room -they start working at 8 every morning and the dust from the floor... This hotel is like a (much less wealthy at the time) cousin of the legendary Grand Hotel Bolivar in Lima, and thus an absolute delight, especially for the money. Located on the edge of downtown in easily the most civilized neighbourhood with it's XIXth century-like Haussmanian buildings, excellent restaurants, flea market, et c, it 's the perfect place to discover... This old hotel is in an excellent central Santiago location at budget prices. Stayed 2 nights upon arrival in Chile and two nights before leaving. Park across the street has fantastic view from the summit and commemorates the founding of the city in 1500s. Easy walking distance to museums, presidential palace (La Moneda), Plaza de Armas and pedestrian malls. Adjoining... More
