We were delighted with our room at Foresta. Yes, the bathroom particularly was run down, but hey, there was great water pressure in the shower, the room was huge and well-furnished, bed comfortable, and you weren't paying a ridiculous price! The doorman and desk staff were really friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be beaten. more

We just loved the Foresta in the Barrio Lastarria. Were going to stay a couple of days but ended up staying a week. We arrived at the Santiago bus station without a place to stay. The hostel we walked to was booked, and the girl there called a dozen places for us before we were able to get a room at Hotel Foresta (the last room they had available). On arrival at Santiago airport I was initially pleased to find a man holding a card with my name on it. The pleasure evaporated however when I discovered the hotel reception staff had obviously advised the taxi driver of my arrival and in return received a 'kickback'.
