Reviews for this Hotel are a bit mixed and i do not undestand. The location is perfect. Next to the Presidential Palace. 4 blocks from Santiagos answer to Barcelonas "Rambles" and at the bottom of this pedestrianised street the main Square and fantastic shops. The fish market and the old railway station are still walkable. The staff in the hotel... more
We stayed at this hotel for one night prior to a cruise. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Santiago and is convenient to the various tourist sites in the town. The rooms are average but clean and adequate. It would not be a hotel we would stay in for the experience but is certainly all right for... more
The Diego de Almagro Downtown has 4 stars, but looks more like a 3 stars. The room we were in (nr. 703) was very small, the bed was size was between a single and a queen size. the room was in need of a good renovation, while the bathroom was new, but very small. the window, overlooking the noisy courtyard... more
We stayed at the Diego del Almagro and it is certainly convieniently located. It's right near la moeda metro stop, not far from the Plaza del Armas. Parking is free and easy, although I don't recommend renting a car in Santiago (we had a friend from the outskirts of town come in and stay with us). The only negative, and... more

While the rooms were just ok, the location more than made up for it. We were right on the main street of Santiago with the Presidential Palace only two or three blocks away. All other sites of interest were also within walking distance, being no more than 30 minutes at most. The staff was generaly helpful and English was good... more
I was pleased wit this hotel from the moment I arrived at 07:30 after an overnight flight, and was given my room immediately and without comment at my early arrival. My room was pleasant, but travelers shouldn't expect luxury; this is an aging hotel in need of some modernization. However, my room was very clean, quiet and comfortable, with wonderful... more
The rooms were great. The 2 double beds were very comfy and the bathroom nice and clean. Breakfast was great with a good selection. However, if you ask for real juice you get charged a fortune. Tea and coffee available during the day in the lobby. 2 PCs with internet access which you have to queue for (and occasionally tell... more

Staff very friendly and all excell at trying to assist even with pre-booked and paid for tours. Chased up our local agent to ensure we had times and places of pick... more
