Loved this hostel, lots of fun with helpful and entertaining staff. Great hostel to meet people and chill in an open entertaining area and warm lounge room :-) Special thanks to Amie and Lauren for the laughs and great cooking.

Castillo Surfista is one of the most relaxed and friendly hostels I've been to in South America. It's in a beautiful old house in a really nice, safe neighbourhood. The metro is only a few minutes away so it's a great base to explore the city. The rooms are very clean, the staff are friendly, there's a really nice outdoor... More

Nice quiet hostel, very friendly staff, beautiful neighbourhood. Breakfast is basic but nice. Good wifi, kitchen and areas to chill out. The dorm room was comfortable, plenty of bathrooms with excellent showers. Not much more you can ask - definitely recommend it.

My boyfriend and me stayed two times in this hostel during our travels in Chile. It's a cozy place with nice people, friendly staff a kitchen and comfy beds. We could leave our stuff while going to Valparaiso which was really great and had a great time hanging out in the lovely backyard. It's also pretty close to everything to... More

Traveling as a backpacker in the past I cannot speak too loudly about the noise at this hostel but being that we got the private room, hoping to get some peace and quiet, we were forced to use ear plugs till early in the morning. The private room is right by the outside patio where people listened to music, drank... More

Thanks for your comments. Like any hostel, we will have a bbq or event once in awhile, usually on a Friday or Saturday, but for 99% of the week we try to keep it relaxed and quiet. We have a policy of quiet in the patio after 11:30pm and unfortunately guests will sometimes break this. I´m sure if you had... More

This hostel was awesome. Comfortable bed and amenities, clean, the staff and owner were social, fun and helpful. Location is walking distance to the metro, restaurants and bars. Nice outdoor courtyard, always someone to sit and have a drink with. And the hostel dog that skateboards is always entertaining. Special mention to Gigi, Orianna and Nadia for all thier help... This is my favorite place that I've stayed in all of South America! It is such a comfortable place to stay, it really feels like coming home. The kitchen is totally equipped and it's been great cooking big elaborate meals with other guests from all over and then enjoying them either in the dining room or the lovely back patio... More

The hostal was in a good location for exploring Santiago. The staff were helpful in giving us recommendations and tips for the area. Our room was spacious, with a very comfy bed and a nice balcony (double with shared bathroom). Only downside was that you could hear alot through the walls - hostal guests, barking dogs etc! talking of dogs... More

Thanks for the compliments!! Sometimes our dog gets a bit rowdy and barks during the bbqs but he always calms down once he has a few drinks. (just kidding btw). More
