I stayed here in April and would not return to this hostel. It's strange to give a 2 rating for a place that actually looks like it should be great...but....it fails in two basic areas 1) Hot Water - The water was cold/warm..by the time I had suffered and got out, I realised it had warmed up...SAVE water stickers are... Dear Guest: First of all, we're very sorry about the uncomfortable situations that you been through. 1.- Our heating sistem it works with wood, and sometimes we have to clean our boiler, when that happened, we must work with a back up boiler, maybe in there failed the automatic schedule, but at that moment a college work fixed it. 2.-... Great restaurant and lovely lobby. But we discovered bed bugs in the middle of the night. When we told the front desk the next morning, they told us they already knew and not to worry. They were not helpful or apologetic. PLEASE AVOID, as they said it's an ongoing problem.

Tren Del Sur is a fun little hotel on a hill in Puerto Montt. The decor is unique and the rooms are clean and well laid out. Accross the street is a great bakery with the best Empanadas in town. Be aware that petty theft is very common in Puerto Montt so don't let the laid back atmosphere make you... More

Staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are very dark, except a very small window in the bathroom our room had no windows at all, therefore also lacking fresh air. Neither chair nor desk in the room, a little bench beside the night tables and the bed was all the furniture in the room. Good comfortable bed. The restaurant... More

The first impression - the lobby - is really nice. The second impression - the one that might matter more? - the room - was dark, smelled musty (moldy?), had no windows, and wasn't super clean. It worked out fine for us for one night in a pinch - we arrived in town with no reservations and no phone, so... More

This is a hotel, not a hostel. You can't cook and there's no real social space. And the rooms do not have windows! However, the staff were very, very friendly, and they have a (proper) coffee machine at breakfast. A little disappointed as the Hola Hostel chain had been reliable up until now.

A comfortable hotel about 7 or 8 blocks from the retail centre but a taxi journey away from the harbour and the fish restaurants. (But taxis not expensive.) The common areas are themed and very stylish. By contrast, the bedrooms are Spartan (no bedside lights, no windows) and the time is fast approaching when a little refurbishment will be necessary.... Room: dark and it was not that clean. Shower was ok. Breakfast was quite simple. Staff was ok,nothing special to add. The place itself could be better, but it looks a bit left behind. The location if you are by car it is good, otherwise you have to walk to the city which doesnt look safe, but I can not... More

We spent 4 nights at this hostal in Feb. 2012. The general look and mood is great... nice selection of old objects and furniture and a very pleasant ad helpful staff. My major regrets are about the bed (quite old and very uncomfortable), the room/bathroom (very small and extremely simple... bathroom barely ok). At night, every single noise from the... More

We only stayed the one night but the staff were very welcoming and incredibly helpful. Thank you Ivan and Miguel. They organised an airport transfer and car hire to Argentina for us and also managed to get our lost luggage returned. The hotel is very quirky With lots of interesting railway memorabilia, etc, our children were enchanted! The room was... More
