There's other better options in Pucón. The Grand Hotel is pretty old and expensive. The swim pool is nice and is in front of the beach but I think you can get a much better stay for the same price or you can pay much less for the same level of service. If you go in the summer be warn:... More

Firstly we booked with a ski package which brought the price down a bit but for what prices I could see at the counter it was ridiculous. The hotel is very dated which I was told is to be expected in a ski village. Not really a ski village though. We had to wait 2 hours to check in as... More

Yep. Revues warned us of this place and we were reminded of them as we drove up to a large monolith that had black mold adorning white stucco balconies. Perched upon a beautiful beach of Vallirica Lake we wondered how the Village of Pucon put with such an eyesore? The information we have is that it is owned by a... More

Location - excellent. The beach right out the door to one side and on the other straight ahead and a short walk you are in the action. Rooms - We had a spacious room with King size bed and another room with two twin beds. However, there were no lamps or lighting in the adjunct twin beds room. Strange! Bed... More

We booked into the Gran Hotel before reading to many reviews, then started to read more and more previous reviews and had our concerns but was to late to change. Yes we agree with a lot of previous comments, it is a bit tired, the decor is on the old side, etc. But generally it was clean, we found the... More

We were booked into this hotel by our travel agent, an Australian specialist in South America, who should know better. No doubt in its heyday, this place was quite the thing. That time is long past. Great position on the lake side. Terrible rooms, tired and tatty decor, and the coup de grace was a cold shower in the morning.... More

this is a lovely site, beautiful black beach, but it is unattended, needs much work, upkeep, repair, and with all of that could be an incredible place. Instead, they've let it go downhill. What a shame. The couches in the lounge are so filthy we dared sit on them, the carpeting in the gym is torn to shreds, etc etc.

Very very very slow service (hours to check in), large room, but not in a very good condition. Bathroom in USA-style, so regular inundations (because the shower curtain did not properly fit) and always an amount of cold water before he shower produces warm water. Had to repair the toilet twice. Internet did not work. Breakfast was ok, lunch quite... More

As many others have stated here, the Gran Hotel is in an absolutely fabulous location, with views of Volcan Villaricca to one side, the lake on the other (and mountain views for rooms on the sides) - but the rooms themselves are not as well apportioned as you'd expect for a hotel in this class/price range. Internet is terrific when... More

Nice location, but that's about it. The hotel is old and in an extremely poor state. The staff was not very friendly, a lot of them didn't speak any English at all. The rooms haven't been updated nor maintained in ages. The room safe didn't work, there was no sound isolation and no air conditioning. The bathroom was in a... More
