We traveled from the airport to Fernloft East Coast thinking that what the website said was true - clean, comfortable. BUT to our dismay, the place was dark, dingy and intolerable. The rooms are claustrophobic and the bathroom is located at the far end of the narrow corridor. This hostel is an insult to tourists. Check it out to prove... more

Fern Loft Backpackers was an ok, basic hostel. The hostel offers a free breakfast which consists of toast, some cereal and tea or coffee. The hostel is located above a bar which can sometimes be noisy, especially late at night if you are wanting sleep. The hostel offers vouchers for the bar downstairs with money off drinks and food. Great place. Well located, convenient to airport. Typical small hostel. Very clean. Be prepared to share bathroom and shower. Amazing value. I am returning there soon and will stay again. Also recommend it to friends. (Bring earplugs as the bar below can be a bit noisy until 2 am.- otherwise quiet location in a charming area) more

The staff at Fern Lodge were very friendly and were happy to assist you with local information/ booking trips etc. The room we booked was very cosy and clean.
