I really enjoyed staying at the Keong Saik Hotel. I booked a Deluxe Double Room for my partner and I, and another Deluxe Double Room for my parents; both were on the second floor. Our room ended up being slighter bigger than my parents', with plenty of room for our luggage. Our rooms were essentially a long corridor, with the... More

The Keong Siak was a great accommodation in Chinatown. Really enjoyed staying there for 4 nights in a single room as it was really close to everything and within walking distance of all forms of transport. The rooms are really organised and clean. Air conditioning works well and made it comfortable to sleep. Free Wifi. Tea and Coffee facilities in... More

The reception staff was not professional and demanded us to pay the remain amount of the stay just in the middle of the night when we arrived and when we did not have enough Singapore Dollars in cash... they could not wait until next day... it felt like we were illegal... The room was small without a window, only a... More

I can be blamed for not researching when I booked, I thought that this would be better for the price. I chose it because it was middle-of-the-road. Having seen all the good reviews this place gets I feel I had to post a bad one... I don't think I am picky but you can decide from what I have to... More

Keong Siak hotel was in a great location with an abundance of eating places, shopping, sightseeing and transport within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable although limited space on one side of the bed making it difficult to get out without climbing over the bad. There was no spare toilet paper and had to ask when we ran... More

We booked a room for four nights, and it costed under $500. It was worth it because of the location; close to Chinatown - a lot of food places and exploring, and close to Tanjong Pagar - bars and Maxwell food court. Outram MRT (purple line) was only a three minute walk away. Tanjong Pagar and Chinatown MRT was about... More

The location was good, and a stone's throw from either the traditional area of Chinatown or the happening Club Street area. The amenities were sufficient, the accommodation clean and nice smelling. The staff were exceedingly friendly and the breakfast was decent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We took photographs of that area, which can be found on: http://ourconsonance.wordpress.com/2014/12/06/69-keong-saik-road/

its located in the heart of Chinatown and close to the MRT station. The rooms are small but very convenient. Good and friendly staffs. I stayed in the standard double and paid $125/night and it came with a light breakfast daily.

This hotel is small in an old building but the location is good near MRT station. Rooms are small too. Our room in ground floor doesn’t have a window. Since most time we are out of the hotel that is OK. The breakfast is simple but sufficient – cereal, bread, jam, coffee, milk, and eggs. One day had hot dogs... More

We have just spent two nights at the Keong Saik hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in central Chinatown, close to MRT stations and food halls. It is a small hotel and does not have the extras that larger hotels have but this is also clear from their website. Our room was on the 3rd floor by... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
