The hotel was nice, quiet and clean. The staff were very helpful but I'd like to commend Ben especially, who is one of the front desk personnel. Our flight was delayed by 1.5hrs and we wanted to go to Night Safari immediately because we already had a booking. Check-in was a breeze and Ben helped us get a taxi to... More

The hotel was located in the Lorong 6 Geylang, which actually red district in Singapore, but it was located far from the nightlife so the hotel was perfect for couples or families with children. To get here you can walk from MRT Station Kallang about 10 minutes, or if you already have the pass, you can stop at MRT Station... More

Very happy with the hotel. Staff are friendly and well looked after. We have no problem in recommending this to our friends or colleges. On our next trip we would be staying at fragrance emerald again.

Pros: - Located at the start of the red light district. Not too noisy and it is close to the Kallang train station. About 10 minute walk. - Has A/C and Wifi and 1 English movie channel. - Lots of places to eat around. - Clean. - Friendly staff. Cons: - Small bed. - No tub. You get what you... More

Rooms are very small and tight . I wnt suggest this for family with a small kid. But good for solo travelers or friends . lots of nice restaurants and hawker places near by . I selected this hotel only for the location to try out different food. It was good. even though hotel location is little far from Metro... More

The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. The staff are very friendly. The complimentary breakfast is not bad but I recommend going out to eat because the food is amazing. The room is decent with a nice jacuzzi tub. Bummed it was windowless.

Hotel is located in Geylang area which is very near the bus stop and therefore very convenient to get a ride going to the MRT and other places of interest like Chinatown, Little India, Harbou front, etc. . You wont get hungry because there are plenty of eateries in the area. Hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating especially when... More

The hotel is fine for a few days and those on a budget. The location is fine and doesnt feel like a red light district. It is basic compared to say what you would get for the equivalent price in other asian cities. The MRT is reasonably close and one of the best way's of getting around the city fast.... More

Easy to book hotel on quite Geylang Lorong (Street). This is budget hotel but was clean. Small room but staff were very good. Very quick check-in process. At the price a good deal for Singapore. Great for short stop over!

Had a brief overnight stay at this hotel Last week. Arrived 2am. While the staff at the front desk were really nice the experience went crashing downhill from there. Opened the door of our allocated room to find that the Airconditioning was turned off and the room was as hot as hell. We turned it down to the lowest temperature... More

Staying in Geylang

Neighborhood Profile
Geylang
Only a short journey from Singapore’s sparkling and polished city center, Geylang is a world away. Here in one of the least touristy areas of Singapore, visitors are privy to an unfiltered glimpse of Singapore life. On Sunday afternoons, migrant workers gather in Geylang to let off steam after a tough week. At the eastern end of Geylang Road, families and friends happily enjoy picnics. By contrast, at the western end, a more colorful side of Singapore can be seen, as street workers mingle with Sunday revelers in outdoor coffee shops. Take a friend, grab a beer and a local meal (frog porridge, perhaps?), and settle in to enjoy the show.
