Overnight stay from Vietnam to Australia. The room was clean and comfortable but did not have windows. The hotel was close to airport and it was easy to catch a taxi. Plenty of nearby local food courts. Quiet location.

This hotel was a nice surprise. The staff are friendly and attentive. Our room was generous especially the ensuite, compared to other hotels we have stayed in Singapore. The location is close to supermarkets and transport so you don't need a car.

Situated half way between Changi Airport and the City - a taxi is probably the best way to get there at night. The Paya Labar MRT station is less than 10min away, and the City centre 10 min by train. We loved walking around the predominantly Malay shops/eateries, though Starbucks and 'Toast Box' are nearby. The hotel itself provides clean,... More

For the price and location, I wasn't expecting much from this hotel. To my (& family) surprise, it's a well maintained newly refurbished hotel. We drove to the hotel and the location is decent. It has 4 parking bays to accommodate 8 car stacked up. You need to drive 200m around to reach the parking bay which is behind. Fast... More

There's nothing to wow about but Champion Hotel is a functional and affordable place to stay in Singapore, with reliable WiFi connection, a reasonably spacious room with all the necessities, and a decent location from which to explore the notorious Geylang/Joo Chiat area. The hotel is located amidst a long row of shophouses on Joo Chiat Road and can be... More

Great newly establish/ renovated hotel, clean, rooms are spacious and super clean, wifi is fast. There is all good things about this hotel probably except the location is not exactly convenient. You'll likely need bus connection, however if you are looking for a hotel close by the airport, I would recommend this one. There are some great local food around... More

Stayed one night each way from Australia to Bangkok. Easy access via taxi from Changi Airport( approx $20sg).Easy check in/out. Clean comfortable rooms. Beds a little firm for my liking. Room was a deluxe double. For a one night stay at around $100 AUD per night - very good value. Will stay at Champion Hotel again.

Staying in the Champion Hotel at this time. The Hotel is very clean and although the area is not supposed to be very good (Geylang Rd) its not as bad as been portrayed . You know what they say , "Where the locals eat" . Metro station is about 15 minutes walk and from there you can basically reach any... More

My friends (2) and I went to Singapore for a summit and wanted something cheap as we were out all days. I managed to get this hotel for 3D2N at a very cheap price for Singapore standard. We were pleasantly surprise by the nice, modern and very clean room. we requested for 3 single beds. The room came with the... More

Staying in Joo Chiat

Neighborhood Profile
Joo Chiat
The Joo Chiat area is the traditional home of Peranakan culture in Singapore, an ethnic group descending from the blending of Chinese and Malay families in the 15th century. The neighborhood is packed with colorful shops, local characters, and quiet charm. The main streets overflow with diners enjoying katong laksa, the signature Peranakan spicy noodle soup. Signs of youthful entrepreneurship are visible as well, with modern cafes, bars, and shops abounding. Visit Joo Chiat to take a break from the big city sights and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a laid-back and local vibe.
