Singapore has always had good expensive hotels and varying degrees of basic hotels. Harbour Ville was not luxury but sounded good. The taxis at Outram MRT station did not know where it was though only a mile away. Luckily I had printed off a map. It might help if you tell them it is next to St Teresa's church, which... More

We stayed here one night on our way back to Perth after a week in Phuket. Good value as a transist hotel. Room very small but didn't smell of smoke. Bathroom small, but clean. You have to be skillful not to spray the toilet with water. Room air conditioned. Nothing in bar fridge, but one bottle of water supplied. For... More

I stayed 2 days at the Harbour Ville. The rate was substantially lower then most decent hotels in Singapore and the reviews seemed OK. Check in was quick. When I got to the room, it had a smoke odor. I called the front desk who told me they do not have non-smoking rooms, but promptly sent someone up to spray... More

Very average place. Arrived at 11pm. Reception glanced at my passport - told me I was staying for 2 night - I had in fact booked and pre-paid for 3 nights. Given room key and told which floor it was on. No mention of facilities available. Bedroom measured 3 metres x 3 metres, bathroom was 1 metre wide x 2... More

Singapore is a beautiful, but expensive town, especially for a budget traveller or backpacker. However the Harbour Ville Hotel, offers good value and is clean and friendly. We paid $40 a night through Asiarooms. It is not luxurious, but doesn't claim to be. Our room, on the 8th floor, had a relatively comfortable bed, tv, fridge and lots of storage... More

PROS: Cheap, clean CONS: Noisy, not great breakfast, distance to shopping, dodgy security no locks just a chain to the door. We checked in at 1am after a long flight from Japan/ HAwaii, and was woken up by loud moaning noises, and footsteps can be heard from the room.

The hotel is simple but clean, good for value. The location is a little bit far from MRT Station, a short bus journey, but not too much hassle. The room is bit small, but at least clean and with comportable air conditioning. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing which I can't stand is their breakfast, really not healthy... More

After reading reviews we decided to go for it and booked a 10 night stay at the Harbour Ville. For the money we thought it was very good. Because of the earlier reviews we did not expect too much from the breakfasts but did find something we could eat even if its was just toast and jam, the green jam... More

If it's a clean, comfortable and inexpensive night's stay you're looking for then this hotel is ideal. A $5 SGD cab fare into the city centre, the hotel is quite central and the reception desk is helpful.I cannot fault it for value.

Frankly speaking, this is one of the lousiest hotel i've ever stayed in. However, for the price, I supposed I am not in the position to complain. Everything was so basic, the bed was so hard, the blanket was so thin, and any view from the window was non existance. The only plus points I can think of was the... More
