The hotel's location is excellent, a walking distance from China Town. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us in organizing and booking most of our trips. There were no varieties in the breakfast but it tasted really delicious. The room was too small, however, it is well furnished and the room service was very good. Overall, we... More

Celebrated my partners birthday with a staycation in Scarlet Hotel, Was disappointed with everything. I booked a premium room for a 2 nights for the first and also the last time. I was there at 2pm and the room was not ready. The staff did not apologize and the room that they assigned me was really noisy (the room was... More

I like the Scarlet. Although the rooms are small, it’s a comfy boutique in Chinatown, my favorite area of the city. Comfy beds, good service, warm/modern décor and finishing. Of course for a four star boutique hotel, it’s not cheap. My favorite thing about the Scarlet is the roof top bar (the only bar on the premises), where I have... More

Went to Singapore on April 2015. Stayed at The Scarlet Hotel. The service was excellent, a 4 star hotel with a 5 star service. The hotel's interiors are fancy, rooms are clean. But the hotel's best asset is their hotel staff. Thanks to Ynna, Jenny , David & Ronnie for their personalized service.

Was in Singapore one night and this was recommended by the agent. Overall it's average. The boutique style is cool & trendy and the welcome very warm. The building itself is really nice. Downsides are the rooms are just beginning to look a little tired and are small. Also during my stay the restaurant nor bar were open so when... More

I have stayed at The Scarlet Hotel every visit to Singapore since 2010, at least twice a year! Such a wonderful, cozy hotel with a sexy charm! Located within walking distance of Chinatown, the subway, the business district, a thriving nightlife and restaurants!!! The staff is charming, responsive and have gone out of their way to find options for me... More

What a lovely hotel. We didn't book it ourselves as it was part of a package, and we only stayed the one night, BUT, what a lovely authentic hotel this is, much more of an ambience feeling than the modern glitzy places, which we like. Really close to China Town and lots of restaurants. It was buzzing there. Check in... More

We elected to upgrade our room so that we'd have a little more space. It was a good decision and we were very comfortable for our 4-day visit. The location is perfect. We were walking distance to several interesting districts. The service was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We like the funky historically-significant building and the overall ambiance.

Really nothing was horrible about the Scarlet Hotel Singapore. I stayed there all last week and the hotel was generally comfortable and the staff nice. That said, I don't think there were any things that would make my rating be more than 'average'. What was average about the stay? Checkin was average, staff was average, room size was on the... Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
