Great hostel, fairly clean and quiet. Lots of backpackers hanging out in the common area, but mainly because theres no outlets or wifi in the rooms, which is a big pain. Otherwise, really friendly staff, great vibe, would stay there again. Right in little india and a 5 min walk to the indian hawker stalls, delish!

We stayed at the inn crowd for a week whilst in singapore. we booked a double room but had to change to a twin room on our last night because of over booking. staff were very apologetic even though this wasn't a hassle at all. close to MRT station and hawkers market. cheapest beer you will find in singapore. showers... I stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 nights. We had requested a double room but one was not available so we were put in 12 bed mixed dorm. We weren't overly impressed. The dorms and bathrooms were clean all the same which is the main thing. The hostel is well located in little India. It is central to most... More

I'll start with the positives: The location is in a great location - right in the middle of Little India and near the MRT station, also walking distance from Bugis shops and Arab Street. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and a convenience store right next door. Most of the staff were excellent - very knowledgeable about the... More

We´ve been there for 3 nights, booked a double room. when we arrived, the booked room was not available for some reason. had to stay in a 8 bed dorm the first night, then we got our booked double room which was actually a dorm room as well, but just the two of us. clean rooms and bathrooms, warm water.... My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights in a private room. The staff were extremely friendly and the location is good, but the beds were very uncomfortable - bumpy mattresses and itchy blankets. It was also very noisy in our room - noise from the communal area and corridors frequently woke us up. The mixed sex toilets were... More

Expensive, decent hostel in Singapore. Booked a twin but given a bunk bed. Not great for the money, but that's Singapore hostels, but very nice decor, free toast in morning etc. Good location for getting around to Bugis Street, Little India etc. Friends in dorm room were kept up a lot by noise, people coming and going a lot, not... I stayed there for a couple of days . Plus points: - cheap, polite staff and decent location, free wifi in common areas only. negatives:- The sinks and toilet didnt drain properly!! I watched the WC final there and a guy grabbed another around the neck without any warning. He had to be pulled off. I was surprised to see the... More

Your statement that "they are pretty much only interested in money and not making sure that travellers are safe from the loonies" cannot be further from the truth. While staying at the InnCrowd, I stayed both in a private (double) room and in a dorm. Both were fine - nothing spectacular but definitely decent. This may be one of the cheapest places in Singapore too, which is great for budget travelers. The location is convenient, about a 10-minute walk from either the Little India or Bugis MRT stations,... Stayed here for our one and only night in Singapore, the staff were helpful and we got reduced price Night Safari tickets from them. Dorms were basic bunks, not 'pod' style dorms which are more private. Lots of showers (hot and cold water) and toilets, which, importantly, were clean. Air-con in dorm couldn't be adjusted and seemed to be on... More

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
