Perak Hotel is well localized because metro station is not so far. Staff is helfull and we have got the room at 9.30 even if check-in is 14.00. Breakfast also is quite good. Rooms for 3 people on first floor have only a small window and they are dark and a little bit noisy cause works for the new metro.May... More

Fabulous hotel, great decorations and nice rooms. Very clean and great service. Not much variety in the breakfast but was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of character and fantastic hotel! We will be back!!!

My partner and I stayed at this hotel when doing a Singapore to Bangkok Intrepid trip. We stayed an extra night before. This hotel was very good. A LOT better than expected. When you first walk in it looks small, however its not really the case. The lobby is modern and clean. The staff at the lobby very professional. The... More

There are few hotels in Singapore that have family rooms that will take 2 adults and 2 children but this is one of them (connecting rooms in fact). The hotel is very charming with lovely wooden floors. The rooms are tiny but very clean. We only stayed for a few nights so the size of room did not matter -... More

When searching for hotels, we look for good value, three star, smaller hotels with clean facilities that are in older, more interesting parts of cities and are walkable distances from public transport. Perak Hotel matched these standards but provided so much more that we would highly recommend it to others with similar requirements. We booked a double room which was... More

I have stayed over 100 nights at the Perak over the last 3 years. My wife and coworkers have accumulated about that many more nights at different times. This is our prefered hotel when in Singapore on business because the staff is excellent, it is clean and well managed, and we can't find a better value for our money. The... More

Hmm. Chap 2 reviews ago got upset cos the hotel did not provide toothbrushes and toothpaste? When did that ever become standard - in any class of hotel. I am a westerner and I didn't get welcome juice either, by the way. So what. Maybe they don't like Brits too! This is a basic no frills hotel, about 10min easy... More

Perak Hotel is a clean and cosy little thing, located within walking distance to Arab Street, Bugis Street as well as the MRTs. There's a Briyani place just next door and another one across the street, and more dotted along the streets nearby, so, rest assured you will not die of hunger anywhere around here. CONS: When we arrived, there... More

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
