Hmm. Chap 2 reviews ago got upset cos the hotel did not provide toothbrushes and toothpaste? When did that ever become standard - in any class of hotel. I am a westerner and I didn't get welcome juice either, by the way. So what. Maybe they don't like Brits too! This is a basic no frills hotel, about 10min easy... More

found this hotel on internet after staying one night at fragrance pearl hotel where we had a horrible stay. the staff at the this hotel (Perak hotel) could not do enough for us, the room was on the ground floor, it was a palace compare to fragrance hotel. nice and quiet for a good nights sleep and breakfast was very... Perak Hotel is a clean and cosy little thing, located within walking distance to Arab Street, Bugis Street as well as the MRTs. There's a Briyani place just next door and another one across the street, and more dotted along the streets nearby, so, rest assured you will not die of hunger anywhere around here. CONS: When we arrived, there... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night on a stopover in Singapore. This hotel was smack bang in the middle of little India. This is a pretty good location, and is easy to get around from there. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the room was fine, nothing special, but perfectly suitable and clean. The rooms are a... More

Had spotted this hotel on a prior trip and was so looking forward to our stay but room was so noisy and bright with light outside that we got no sleep.

Perak was an oasis. The staff were very helpful from when we arrived on an early flight and needed to check-in early to arranging our departure. The rooms were clean, had air con and the bed was comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Reasonable rates for good service.

The hotel is in Little India quarter, only 5 minutes from the subway. The staff is very nice. The breakfast is basic but ok. The rooms are small, it is an ex shophouse, but perfect for a short stay.

We made reservations for the Perak Hotel online. Very easy and straight forward. As my partner and I are both very tall, we opted to book the ''Superior Suite'' for extra comfort (as Singaporean hotels are famous for being really small). When we reached the hotel, we were greeted by very friendly staff in a very cozy environment. Initially I... More

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
