We booked a family room (good for 5 pax). The room was very spacious and clean, and there were toiletries, clean beddings and clean towels provided. They don't have complimentary water, though. But the location is a big plus since it is just a 3-5 minute walk from Bencoolen station. There are constructions on going in front of the hotel,... More

Large, clean room, always clean, always made up. Shower strong and temperature adjusted to your liking, bonus dispensed soap (passable). Beds a bit firm to some but plenty of pillows. On 2nd floor looking out to mrt construction but rarely heard any noise, always nice sleep at night. Plenty of cupboards and drawers, and hangers. Plenty of lights, down-lights and... More

The hotel was recommended by a relative who had stayed here. I made the booking directly with the hotel since I needed an extra bed but didn’t need the family rooms, while my companions did it through Agoda for the standard/family rooms. Strand Hotel is located along Bencoleen Street, where a cluster of hotels (Rendezvous, Hotel 81, Hotel Bencoleen) are... More

We stayed one night in a a family room (4 pax) which was one of the refurbished rooms and we were so happy as for the money we paid it was definitely good value. Singapore accommodation is very expensive, especially if travelling as a family, so I can definitely recommend the refurbished family room. Our room had a double bed... More

Stayed for three nights here. The rooms are quite spacious from Singapore standards where at times all you get is a pigeon hole. This is an old property so nothing very plush or upscale about it. The beds are comfy and bathroom decent equipped with a powerful shower. The breakfast was basic with fried eggs bacon and toasts alongwith cornflakes... More

This hotel is within easy walking distance of Raffles, Singapore Museum and Singapore Art Museum. Bencolen Street is closed for major work on the metro but construction noise was not a problem. The staff are both friendly and helpful. The rooms are rather tired but clea. Breakfast was included but wasn't great.

Nice hotel and location. A 24hr restaurant is just around the corner. Most of the staff people were nice except for the night manager. She was a bit unfriendly and curt with us. We had reserved 3 rooms and prepaid for it too but I think she was a little confused on the rooms that we had booked because my... More

Though it was renovated 2 years back, if not mistaken, I found the room that we were in was just a bit 'old' and it didn't bode too well with my husband who has a sensitive nose. His nose was blocked most of the time. Perhaps it was the head board or the carpet, we will never know. The room... More

I stayed here for 3 nights and found the room amenities to be quite basic. Given the scarcity of reasonably priced hotels in SG, this hotel's facilities are modest. However, the location of the hotel is a high point. It's right in the city and yet away from the noisy nightlife that Prinsep Street offer. At the foot of Orchard... More

We chose Strand Hotel because of its proximity to churches and it's one of the few hotels that has a family room that can accommodate more than four. Staying in one room reduces the cost. Thus, it was perfect for my family. Also, it was fun staying in one room. Strand hotel provides the basic amenities. However, buffet breakfast has... More
