I had a good time roaming around Chinatown and other neighboring parts of the city-state. The price was a bit higher than most BUT the location is very convenient. The taxi driver immediately spotted it and is very near to bus stops. 3-5 minutes walk and you're at the MRT station. I was supposed to stay for a night but... More

Great location, just in front of the MRT Exit but you have to walk to the intersection to cross the street. Great staff, but don't expect them to be in uniform, accommodates all our requests and offers different tours. Great value for money, given the location and the city itself, it will be difficult to find a place to stay... More

After reading several reviews about Beary Nice, Beary Good and Beary Best, I decided to try out Beary Best hostel for my 3 day halt in Singapore. The only issue I had was they wouldn't let me check in before sometime late in the evening (I had come in around 9am), but they are kind enough to let you refresh,... More

Really nice hostel, staff were friendly and really helpful as they booked some of our tours. In a great location right in the heart of Chinatown and close to the MRT. The hostel was clean, quiet and had great wifi connection. Free breakfast is also included

Best location just across the road from Chinatown MRT. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful with directions. A really cute interior and very quiet. They did not have any double bed private rooms, however it was that hot that bunk beds were fine for my boyfriend and I. Thank god for the air con. Bathrooms were fine... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
