After reading the reviews me and my girlfriend thought this would be a nice place to stay. We originally booked just the one night and were very glad we did just that!! After checking in we got shown to our room which wasn't the one we originally booked. We got put in a private twin room instead of a 4... More

Arriving to the 5.Footway China Town Hostel was easy to find and is located in the heart of China Town opposite the main China Town Streets. When we were taken to our room, we were extremely shocked to see the size of the room! I can only describe by saying it was like staying in a squashed shoe box! No... More

You can walk to the hostel in 3 minutes from MRT Chinatown(Exit A). The hostel's small but not bad. I have feel when I stay in my house. So hostel staff's very kind and friendly also. Inside the room's very small and not clean. The overview's better for backpacker.

(+) Helpful staff. Clean bathroom/toilet/room (of course after bathrooms/toilets used by many careless guests they'll be dirty, but the staff often do some thoroughly cleaning. (-) Thin wall (not good for light sleeper); staff should warn guests not to make loud noises after 10pm. Foul odor especially in room with carpet.

This Canadian senior citizen has been travelling for over 30+ years and I am totally amazed at this fantastic hostel in Singapore. It is by far the best bargain in Singapore. It is super modern and clean and the staff are most pleasant and helpful. Staff at Project Ann Siang are extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you Elisa and Safreena.

Stayed one night in January 2015 and paid S$80 for two people in a private room with a bunk bed, towels, air conditioning and wifi. Room was internal without a vent or window. Bathrooms are shared. 5footway.inn is in a good location with Chinatown's main street a one-minute walk away. However, the conditions in the hostel were average. There are... More

Stayed in the hotel with friends to attend the Laneway Festival. We're not really hardcore backpackers and preferred a little privacy so we chose the room that accommodated three. (Didn't mind the shared bathrooms though.) Our room was airy and had a nice view of the entry to Chinatown and the temple, but there was some noise down the street... More

The hotel is 2 blocks from chinatown subway station, very close to stores, restaurants and some sightseeings, it´s a very nice area. There´s a good breakfast included on the price, and the cleaning is ok, the biggest problem is the rooms are too much small and the bathroom is still smaller, other problem is, there´s no window in the room... Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
