we booked this hotel through agoda. When we came to the hotel at 11.30 p.m Manager told us the booking was cancelled by agoda and its not his problem. In the middle of the night we were totally lost and helpless because this hotel cancelled our booking and NEVER GAVE A SINGLE NOTIFICATION to us. He did not refund our... More

Stayed there for 5 nights. Only good about this place is the price is cheap. Of course, when price is low, everything else is low in standard as well. For continuous 5 days, there was no housekeeping done for the room, i.e no change of bedsheets, no change of towels and cleaning of floors, despite daily reminders before I leave... More

Older hotel but in ok condition, it isnt the Hilton so dont expect concierge service. Clean sheets and fairly quiet. The airport shuttle drops you right at the door for $9 and this place does short term "in transit" rooms (1, 3 or 6hr stays) for those that need a rest/freshen up between flights. Free wifi and coffee in the... More

We didn't mind the redlight status in the area, we just wanted an affordable hotel with FREE WIFI. Based on our 4D3N experience in Singapore, overall, it was amazing from arrival to departure, from check-in to check-out.. Hotel 101's staff were very hospitable and great. I would gladly recommend others who are planning to visit Singapore to BOOK HERE, don't... More

My partner and I stayed 4 nights at Hotel 101. We knew that it wasn't going to be amazing due to the low price and bad reviews. We were right. It's not great. The area is dodgy - brothel across the road, prostitutes & pimps hanging around a lot of the time. This didn't cause us any direct issues, but... More

Staying in Geylang

Neighborhood Profile
Geylang
Only a short journey from Singapore’s sparkling and polished city center, Geylang is a world away. Here in one of the least touristy areas of Singapore, visitors are privy to an unfiltered glimpse of Singapore life. On Sunday afternoons, migrant workers gather in Geylang to let off steam after a tough week. At the eastern end of Geylang Road, families and friends happily enjoy picnics. By contrast, at the western end, a more colorful side of Singapore can be seen, as street workers mingle with Sunday revelers in outdoor coffee shops. Take a friend, grab a beer and a local meal (frog porridge, perhaps?), and settle in to enjoy the show.
