We were going on a cruise and my travel agent booked us at this hotel the night before and after the 7-day cruise. The cruise itself was already pricey so to cut on cost, we said it's okay to be booked in a regular hotel. Well, we got what we requested for. It was such a regular hotel or should... more

I'm not a luxurious traveler but I know a good, clean and efficient boutique hotel when I see one. But Oxford is far from that. The upside, location is clean, quiet and is surrrounded by churches, and there is an art museum nearby. Chimes is also a 5 mintue walk. If the new mrt station nearby opens, locations becomes perfect!... more

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks just before Easter, and, though the location was quite good for access to interesting things, I wouldn't really recommend the hotel. It did have a very nice shower, really sweet (but somewhat incompetent) staff, and always lots of food at the breakfast buffet. However, the manager was very disagreeable, and wouldn't refund... more

I checked in to the hotel on a Sunday to find the keycard entry to my room didn't work and despite being told it would be fixed the next day 4 days later and having to be let in to my room by staff every time I wanted into my room. I forced the issue and was given another room.... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days on 3/1/09 to 3/3/09. Upon going up to the room we noticed the heavy smell of smoke, insecticide and room freshner. When we tried the air condition as the room was very warm, it was not working. We called the Manager Mr. Lim and told him about the smell of smoke and... more

We stayed in this hotel with our two young children. Have booked it, having read a confusingly favorable review in the Rough Guide - admittedly, an outdated version. The plate in the lobby informs that the hotel had been nominated for a hotel award in 2003. One gets a feeling that the hotel managers have given up on it ever... more

I am not the luxury traveler, but I am used to finding quality budget hotels. Singapore is full of boutique and other more value oriented hotels. When I arrived, they had booked me in a smoking room and I fear what that one would have been like had I not changed rooms. I was given a "just freshened" room on... more

The Orchard hotel is just okay... The location is bad because we are very far from Orchard road. The food is almost the same everyday... The rooms are small and not uniform with other room... as if they're trying to make everything fit even if it cannot...But so far our stay was ok more

Stayed in Oxford for 2 nights. Room is extremely small and bathroom is super small. My knees bump everywhere inside the bathroom. Location is about 20-25 minutes good walk from the nearest MRT station and located in smaller road off the main street. For the price around USD 80, you can get much better hotel (more spacious) in the nearby... more
