An really nice old-fashioned hotel, our room was a reasonable size, although in fact twin rooms were larger than standard double rooms. Reception was helpful, managed to book us Tiffin at Raffles at very short notice, and we loved the antiques dotted around the place. Location good, perfect for the metro and Chinatown. Not pretentious, you get what you pay... More

Rude staff. Didn't manage to see her name tag but there were 2 indian ladies serving me and they were unhelpful and unprofessional. True that, the exterior of the hotel looked nice. Once you enter the hotel room, there's a funky-awful smell, the carpet looks filthy. Overpriced rates that doesn't satisfy your comfort. Doesn't apply as 4-star hotel to me.... More

From the outside the place looks very nice - an old shophouse-like mansion. The lobby is fine too. But that's it. The place is simply old, small and smelly. The carpets (what a sick idea it is to have a carpet in a three star hotel..) smell fungus. The room we took was the cheapest one but still quite big... More

For 150 USD for a room I was expecting so much more. True, the bathroom was clean but the room was small, had no view really and the carpets are dump and smelly, no breakfast included. The staff was very helpful and polite though. I guess the biggest sell of the hotel is its location.

We are returning guests at The Duxton because we simply love this neighbourhood... As mentioned in my earlier review in April 2014, the location is great. Easy access to landmarks in Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar MRT station with F&B outlets featuring different cuisines to suit all budgets. Convenience aside, this neighbourhood and this building… has a "soul". We got Suite... More

My 3rd stay here this year. Gave them some patience cause although the room were pokey and actually quite dirty if you really look/the bar service is slower than the trip it would take them to another country for the ingredients and the incessant calling up for wifi every day when no one answers the phone is frustrating - anyway... Gorgeous Girlfriend and I stayed over in Singapore on our way to New Zealand. If you like something out of the ordinary, with a great big dollop of shabby chique, the Duxton is just the job. Yes, the carpets are worn. Yes, a lick of paint would help. But if the Duxton were modernized the world would lose a charming... More

Used to use the this hotel for putting all my overseas clients in, as it was close to my office, whilst working in Singapore. Being a boutique hotel in a great part of town, we were looking forward to going back to Singapore and staying there after quite a few years. The hotel is now very tired looking and the... More

Had a staycation. I'd say, it's an old building made good with a nostalgic feel. The rooms are ok. Hotel is surrounded with eateries, pubs and walking distance to the MRT. Night feels like a ghost town, that is if you are not into drinking.
