We stayed at the Santa Grand East Coast for a week upon moving to Singapore and found the staff to be wonderful and the hotel a very friendly place as we settled in. The room was comfortable and very reasonable. I would strongly recommend it as a choice well within budget. Although not close to the MRT, the neighborhood is... More

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and the room rate included b'fast. The staff are friendly and the hotel clean. They enjoy a good chat at reception and are very helpful in showing the way and organising early morning taxi's to the airport. When I saw my room, I was a little disappointed because it was very small.... More

I am used to traveling in Europe and other places, but I think that for the price the room was even smaller than the smallest room in Europe. They advertise that they have off street parking, but there are only 6 places. Had requested to reserve a parking place in my reservation, but this was not done, and luckily when... More

This is the one and only hotel for which we paid 30% more at checking-out, when compared to the price quote we got through Booking.com - one of the few hotels in which all taxes are NOT included in the quoted price, also they charge a fee for the transfer from euro's to Sing (not an option, and by the... The beautiful heritage building is located in a great place for local eateries and shopping. The rooms are tired and small. However the staff are very helpful and polite. Taking all aspects into consideration the rooms are overpriced in comparison to other hotels. Breakfast is average, nothing more.

Smallest room I have ever seen in my entire life! It was the size of a closet. Upon check in (as well as when I originally booked the room), I told the front desk that my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary in Singapore and that we would like the nicest room available for the money that I had... It's in great location for food. Great eateries round the corner. Small room. Good to hang out with family or friends but the price is comparatively high to its facility n quality. I can see ants and small insects in the room. My daughter was bitten the first night. However, the roof swimming pool gives a good view to its... More

Great location in Katong. Stay here if you want to stay out of a touristy district and in the middle of a good eating street. Lots of good perenakan heritage houses and food here. We stayed 4 nights but were hanging out with family and friends most of the time. Price seems a little high for what you get, but... More

Very near to airport. arrived at the airport midnight, but got to bed before 2:00. Nice breakfast helped my fresh day everyday. Room was very convenience. Air conditioning worked quickly and no power adapter necessary because they have all universal type.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in the East Coast area, Santa Grand Hotel East Coast is nestled at the heart of Katong, well known for its Peranakan heritage and culture. The hotel is also within the larger Joo Chiat area, which was designated as the national heritage conservation area by the Singapore Government with the intention of preserving its rich history, culture and architecture. This Peranakan themed boutique hotel aims to introduce Singapore's unique culture and tradition to visitors, just like its predecessors at Santa Grand Hotel Bugis, Santa Grand Hotel Little India and Santa Grand Hotel Chinatown. Santa Grand Hotel East Coast is built on a 2-storey conservation frontage backed by a 5-storey building. Guests will feel welcomed in the lobby, decorated in bright Peranakan colors, that comes with comfortable seating areas and a business center. Rooms come in four different designs, themes and colors that guests will feel the freshness and variety each time they stay with us. A roof top swimming pool and Jacuzzi offer guests a chance to relax in a tranquil environment with a bird's eye view of the low-lying housing architecture symbolic of the Joo Chiat heritage. Bright colors are used on design of the hotel, similar to the patented sophistication seen in the homes of the Peranakans, creating a warm and inviting ambience and leaving guests with fond memories of the stay. Be it for leisure travelers or travelers on business trip, Santa Grand Hotel East Coast is the place you want to stay in to immerse in a uniquely Singapore culture. Take a walk around the area and you will be amazed by the large variety of food to choose from. A definite must-try would have to be the famous Katong laska, well-liked by Singaporeans and visitors alike, this signature dish can be counted as one of the most popular favorites in Singapore! For outdoors, the hotel is near the popular East Coast Parkway where guests can exercise or just relax amidst the cooling breeze along the Singapore coastline. ... more   less
