The hotel was very nice and in a perfect location in the heart of Chinatown. Even if our room was at the first floor with the window on the main street, it was not noisy and we slept very well! Good price.

Stayed for 3 nights here and it was the best budget hotel I have ever stayed in Singapore. Yes the room is very small but I just need a bed to sleep at night and a shower room to wash (and thank god I didn't have to share it with 20 others in a dormitory which costs just as much).... More

For 2 adult is okay if family wise recommend to get a bigger room. If your luggage is too big you will cramp up the place. It a bit small. Otherwise interior of the hotel was nice. Just a walk out of the hotel there variety of food.

I love the concept and decor of this hotel a lot. This used to be an old opera house. The facade and structure I believe is still well preserved. The balcony overlooking Chinatown is nice and the lighting inside the hotel I thought was very clever. (Don't book this hotel if red is not your favourite colour). Does feel a... More

We had a very hard time trying to sleep at Sata Grand Hotel Lai Chun Yuen. The room was very noisy all day all night from the music and the food street. Even after midnight we still heard the noise from people outside which is very annoying. We stayed for 3 night and asked for changing the room for the... More

Right in the middle of Chinatown where you will find great food and shopping. Close to the subway trains that will take you anywhere! The room was small as well as the bathroom.. if you are looking for luxury.. this is NOT it. Though the room is comfortable and if you dont mind showering over the toilet. The WiFi was... More

For the price, it'll be better to stay at a backpackers hostel. Incredibly squeezy room, no proper place to even put luggage. Toilet arrangement was awful. The toilet bowl was so close to the wall my leg couldn't even pass through. Rusty sink, bad drainage causes toilet to flood while showering. Only one light switch to control all lights in... More

The best location, near MRT but the room very small. The shower above the toilet was inconvenient. In room have good internet and got a bottle water in everyday. A bit noisy because my room facing the street .

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
