Stay here for a week. Nice location. Room is small but it's okay for solo traveler. But the design of the bathroom is not that good though . Especially thanks to the staff Mr.Ho . Very gentle and with smile. Even this is his retired job. But his attitude is very very nice.

Location was fabulous, right in the middle of Chinatown and close to everything. Room was very small but clean with a good bed and the bathroom was small but modern. the hotel had a Chinese flavour to it.

It is a very very small room with no window. A very small twin sized bed with an Asian style mattress. That being said it is very nice for the price. It is clean, has cold A/C, and has an excellent location. Great for the price.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. It has a good location (near chinatown mrt) but ... The door and window of my room were not well isolated, I could hear noises from outside (music until midnight i think) and inside (every footstep) ...

Location in heart of Chinatown was great, especially in the evening - lots of places to eat and drink rights outside the front door. But really disapointing room - no windows or natural light, very small and claustrophobic and had to ask three times for additional pillows for our kids.

We have stayed at the same hotel a few years ago and we came back now, for one night stop over in Singapore. We decided to come back to the same hotel mainly for its proximity to a subway station, location right in the China Town and the hotel's building - the old opera house. But we remembered once again... More

The Santa Grand is located right in a great part of Chinatown. It's got a really cool atmosphere because it's a remodeled old opera house. The room was cozy and no frills, but still clean, nice, and had a TV. Beware that the bathroom was small and had a sliding frosted glass door. The staff was also very nice and... More

It is 3:00 AM and it is impossible to sleep, the windows are some kind of louvers only for decoration, on the street just below to my window some workers install music stuff probable for national day show, I'm not asking for luxury for the moneys I've paid, the room is functional, but the sound insolation from the street noise... Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
