Great relaxed hotel- neat and tidy and beautifully restored and very well priced for family to stay in loft room. It's close to all transport, bugis and lavender train stations. Placed in the heart of the very funky Arab area where you can sit in beautiful Arab alley eating pide and listen to prayers from mosque- unique

We was in the sultan hotel during our Singapore trip mai 2015. The room was good but a lot of noise from street impossible to sleep. A small bathroom. The breakfast was very very poor. The restaurant stuff was unfriendly.

The lobby to the rooms had nice deco. You feel secure also because they have a gate that requires the hotel card to open. The Sultan Loft was nice, the sofa bed was really nice for family bonding. The breakfast was a tad disappointing though, very much different from other raving reviews on how it was awesome.

I've heard of the Sultan Hotel for quite a while now. It is a boutique hotel converted from a classical "heritage" shop-house. In other words a really old place that used to be a shop-house given a new breath of life while retaining some of the old character and charms. There :) Curiosity and a chance short trip to Singapore... More

Stayed 2 nights at The Sultan in a Loft Room. Good for us and our adult son as we had that bit of privacy. We were a bit frightened when we saw the steep ladder to the upstairs loft room where the queen bed was, but after realising that the best way to navigate it was to go up then... More

The hotel room is small. It only suitable for one person. The bed is against the window. Need to climb over the other person in order to get off the bed. Room is noisy because it is closed to main street. Breakfast is ok. Staffs are helpful. Close to transportation. Bus stop at front.

The Sultan's compound is not super extensive, but well thought-out. From the chic whitewashed shophouses to its landscaping of dangling tendrils and flowers, it truly is a gorgeous juxtaposition of old and new. My friends and I got the loft suite for a night, and it was a large room that could easily sleep 4 - 5, and host 10... More

very good atmosphere . But there is a bar and it's noisy crazily. A hotel doesn't consider the person who stays. they just care about bar people. This is a bar and isn't a hotel.

The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms are nicely renovated and decorated, it is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom clean and spacious. The only problem is that the walls are probably not that well insulated, so it is very easy to hear when other guests talk. We were probably a bit unlucky as well as there... More

I arrived at this hotel after 2pm (the official start time for check-in) and the woman behind the check in desk was less than friendly. Once I told her my name she told me my room was not ready. There was no apology and no suggestion of how to handle the matter. I had booked a room with two single... More

Staying in Kampong Glam

Neighborhood Profile
Kampong Glam
This traditionally Malay enclave of Singapore offers an alluring array of shops, cafes, and bars. A walk down Haji Lane offers quirky shopping, while one block over, Arab Street is a treasure trove of brightly colored fabrics, clothing, and Turkish rugs. Stop for a leisurely coffee or cocktail and watch local kids play traditional games along the lane. Also home to the Malay Heritage Center and one of Singapore’s most prominent mosques (Sultan Mosque), Kampong Glam is a must-visit for a tantalizing taste of Malay life in this city.
