This is a great hostel that feels really private (due to the pods). It's clean, friendly, quiet, 2 mins from the MTR (underground) and in the middle of beautiful China Town. The only downside for me was that, although the rooms are air conditioned the other areas aren't so it's really hot in the kitchen and bathrooms. Make sure you... More

50SGD a night is quite expensive in hostel standard. Im gonna list out the pros and cons of the hostel, so you can decide. I stayed for 5 days, i d say its quite comfortable. Pros: The place is very well run and conveniently located to China town MRT with plenty of restaurants around. each person got its own "pod"... More

Hi ForeverGypsy, Thanks for taking time to review Wink Hostel. We are gratified that you found us "very well run" but are embarrassed that you contradicted this kind remark with report of a blood stain on the bedsheet! This is inexcusable and we apologise. We have deliberately outsourced cleaning and laundry (unlike most hostels that do both these tasks inhouse)... More

Great hostel, clean, modern and location is ideal. The pods are a great idea, plenty of room, and a locker underneath for you belongings. The common areas were great, very well set up and breakfast is an absolute bonus! The showers and toilets were always clean and very good quality. Staff were amazing and very helpful. The MRT is right... More

Warm welcome from Kelly who was on night shift. She has escorted us to our 6 bedded private dorm and explained to us how everything works, taken us upstairs to the kitchenette, laundry and bathroom/toilets. Beds were comfortable and for the first time we all slept in. Breakfast is from 7-10:30am basic toast with spreads, cereals, fruits, coffee/tea, fresh milk... More

Hi Melissa, Thanks for staying with us. We are delighted you found us decent and I'd pass on your kind words about Kelly who will no doubt be thrilled and greatly encouraged. We probably have bigger space/facilities than most hostels and do not mind guests using the communal space at all after checking out. Glad you could hang out for... More

Stayed for 2015 march 26-28 in the female dorm. Location was good near mrt station and so many food stall around from the cheap until the medium price. The room was nice, i stayed at lower pod since i have a height phobia. Matress quite soft and they provide 2 pillows. As they said they use a good quality linen... More

We stayed as a couple in a double pod and had a bunch of friends staying in the female dorm on the floor above. I haven't stayed in a hostel for a while and this place was a really pleasant surprise! The pods are a great idea and make you feel like you have much more privacy. The beds are... More

Location is quite good but the facility is not that good. U can get a better hotel in the same area. Toilet is dirty, no hot water in the shower, no tv in the cabin. And u need to pay $2 for a towel. Also the shower and toilet are only located on the top floor.

An update to my previous review: Wink has now exceeded my expectations, particularly in the service department. First and foremost, this is a FRIENDLY place. The staff is extremely cheerful and helpful (both online and in person), pods are clean, comfortable and well-appointed (this time I noted how truly well-designed they are, with awesome considerate touches like smart lights that... Hi beyondquantum, Thanks for your repeat visit and we are especially grateful you continue to scrutinise us closely and share your feedback! Delighted you had a good stay, albeit a short one. Much of the credit for the feel of the place really depends on the guests we host. When you checked-in during the small hours of the night, we... More

Wink Hostel is more than just a hostel. The amount of privacy you could have within the pods is just incredible. I am usually not very fond of the hostels for a number of reasons. One is my fear of being woken up by others and therefore unable to get a good sleep and/or waking others up. At Wink, this... More

Stayed for two nights at this excellent place. Great location (subway is literally steps away) and amazing clean spaces. The bed/ pod area was also quite comfortable, spacious and surprisingly private. I enjoyed the simple yet decent breakfast that was included in the rate. My only beef was with the showers which took a while to heat up in the... More

Hi AXB C, Thank you for taking time to write about your stay at Wink! We're pleased you found us satisfactory. We have central bulk tank heaters (and spare ones) in both the Ladies a Gents shower rooms to ensure guests always have hot water (with spare and buffer), and these are generally activated during the mornings and late afternoons... Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
