We stayed in Fivestones from July 23-26 and the stay was pretty cool. Since we got the dorm type, restrooms are shared. Room is very clean, we love the scent of the room. We got the 5th floor room so we ladies still need to go down at 4th floor to use the bathroom, good for boys since their bathroom... More

We haven't really stayed in many dorms whilst travelling for the last 3 months but this one seemed pretty decent, more expensive than we wanted to pay but I think we were too use to Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam prices. The chill out area was cool, lots of travel books, big TV and tables, very knowledgable staff, super friendly, free hot and cold... More

This is my first experience to travel and stay alone, i thought it's just an ordinary normal hostel. But it was really impressed me when i entered, the living room is just like you are staying at your home, there are tv, wii, dvd movies, novels, but too bad i din have time to use it, due to my busy... I choose this hostel because I have read great reviews about it. Turns out Five Stones Hostel is just average for me. Here are the pros and cons... Pro: 1. Free breakfast (we have our breakfast outside though) 2. Free wifi 3. Comfy bed 4. 8-10 mins walk from Bugis MRT 5. Near to Golden Mile Food Centre (our fav... More

This hostel is located near to the Arab-Street which you can find a lot of night life there. And within 5 mins walk to Bugis. A bus stop right infant of the hostel. Room was clean. It has a great breakfast. Staffs are so friendly and they are very helpful. One bad thing is the male and female toilet were... More

I don't like the fact they separate girls and boys bathroom in the different floor. It will be better if they have boy and girls bathroom in each room. I like the location, the bed, the blanket, the pillow, the cleanlines, the breakfast, almost everything.

I'm not really a hostel person but I was happy to stay here. My friend and I were in a 4 bed female dorm for one night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the location on Beach Road was awesome...super close to everything we needed. The rooms are small, it is Singapore though..., and everything was super clean!... More

This hostel is located in the Arabic quarter and the famous Haji Lane is the next street over. About a 5 minute walk to the closest MRT station gets you anywhere in Singapore. I stayed in a mixed down and the beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. Only negative is that staff would come to change the beds... More

Hi, Thanks for your kind review, it is great that we go from strength to strength in providing our guests with a clean, safe, friendly base in Singapore. I am a bit surprised however about your comment about our cleaning staff disturbing your sleep at 7am. I wish we could get our staff to work so early :) Seriously though,... More

Staying in Kampong Glam

Neighborhood Profile
Kampong Glam
This traditionally Malay enclave of Singapore offers an alluring array of shops, cafes, and bars. A walk down Haji Lane offers quirky shopping, while one block over, Arab Street is a treasure trove of brightly colored fabrics, clothing, and Turkish rugs. Stop for a leisurely coffee or cocktail and watch local kids play traditional games along the lane. Also home to the Malay Heritage Center and one of Singapore’s most prominent mosques (Sultan Mosque), Kampong Glam is a must-visit for a tantalizing taste of Malay life in this city.
