My dad and I stayed here for 3 nights. Staff were super helpful, giving us tips on what to do and see while in Singapore. We stayed in a 10 bed mixed dorm. Room was comfy and clean. Bathrooms were also clean. Close to Arab St. Lots of great places to eat at hereby.

I was dumb enough to get scammed by the camera shop up the road.. girls behind the desk at this hostel were extremely sympathetic and helpful.. helped me involve the police and I actually came out ok. One girl really went the extra mile to help, I think her name was Tahlia. Hotel and area not great for solo travellers

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my boyfriend in a 6 bed mixed dorm and had an awesome time. The location is awesome right next to Arab street with lots of restaurants around and a short walk to the subway. Really friendly and helpful staff that helped us with loads such as explaining and mapping out all the... More

Really nice, very clean and central hostel. The staff was super friendly and very helpful! It is just a 10 min to the MRT station and a 20 min walk to Marina Bay. There is also a bus station just in front of the hostel. It was one of the best hostels i have ever been to! If you are... More

This hostel is the perfect place to stay if you are travelling in a group or on your own! It is in a great location for exploring the city being only a 15 minute walk away from the Marina Bay Area and a minute stroll to Arab St. where there are plenty of restaurants and shops to explore! Accommodation in Singapore is super expensive and getting five stones hotels is a huge budget relieve for our group. The location is easy to find and is very convenient as it is on a main road and is about 5-7 min walk from the metro station. The receptionists are friendly and able to provide most of the assistance we require.... More

Decors were simple and trendy. I liked the paintings on the wall as it was colorful and hip. No shoe policy. Their couch is very comfy. Staff was friendly. Free breakfast : toast, assortment of jams, cereals, coffee, tea, and milo. Free WIFI and fast. Location is near restaurants/hawker food center and tourist attractions. 8 minute walk to MRT and... We stayed in Fivestones from July 23-26 and the stay was pretty cool. Since we got the dorm type, restrooms are shared. Room is very clean, we love the scent of the room. We got the 5th floor room so we ladies still need to go down at 4th floor to use the bathroom, good for boys since their bathroom... More

We haven't really stayed in many dorms whilst travelling for the last 3 months but this one seemed pretty decent, more expensive than we wanted to pay but I think we were too use to Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam prices. The chill out area was cool, lots of travel books, big TV and tables, very knowledgable staff, super friendly, free hot and cold... More

Staying in Kampong Glam

Neighborhood Profile
Kampong Glam
This traditionally Malay enclave of Singapore offers an alluring array of shops, cafes, and bars. A walk down Haji Lane offers quirky shopping, while one block over, Arab Street is a treasure trove of brightly colored fabrics, clothing, and Turkish rugs. Stop for a leisurely coffee or cocktail and watch local kids play traditional games along the lane. Also home to the Malay Heritage Center and one of Singapore’s most prominent mosques (Sultan Mosque), Kampong Glam is a must-visit for a tantalizing taste of Malay life in this city.
