My Five Stones experience started off badly as the TA app led me to the old location, but once I found the new address all was well! It's a funky hostel with a bright and friendly atmosphere, which is well located for little india. The breakfast was basic, bathroom not on the same floor as my dorm, and entrance a... More

This hostel is clean, has great wi fi a friendly staff and is in a great location. I also recommend you check out selfie coffee which is only a short walk from the hostel. I would stay there again if I ever go back to Singapore. There is a small kitchen which is great, and always has free tea and... More

I've been to Singapore a fair few times, however, only in the past couple have I started to use hostels. of course, I didn't know what I was missing! the atmosphere, the diversity in people, the price! Fivestones hostel is everything you could want in a hostel, a friendly staff, bright, spacious & well equipped common room / kitchen, paired... More

This hostel is in a good location (10min walk from bugis station + bus stop just outside), good facilities and even a food tour. The only issue I had was that the receptionists there should try to have a more warm and welcoming attitude towards the guests. One of them gave me a very cold and frustrated look when I... More

The five stones hostel is located in the very center of Singapore. The MRT station is only a 10 minute walk away so everything is easy to reach in a short time. The rooms and bathroom was very clean on my floor (the female only floor) the breakfast is very good and the lounge area is very nice. They have... More

This place is great, but has its cons as well. Location is great. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable, breakfast is really good, and the split shower floors is a smart move to make women feel safer. However, the hostel is a bit pricey, and I agree with some precious comments...too busy, and people are really noisy and disrespectful...more... More

For someone who like to get the most out of their stay in Singapore I would not recommend this place, people are disrespectful and you won't get enough sleep (in dorm) if it wasn't for the rude people who showered, screamed and turned the lights on during the night I would've gave them five stars! But since it was impossible... More

Sadly this hostel has become too popular. It now attracts regular travelers as well as backpackers and therein lies a problem the staff has not much control over. However I believe they could do a couple of things. First off the good... excellent location, strong wifi, free laundry facilities (two sets of washer/dryer), elevator (Yet not handicap-accessible due to the... More

Staying in Kampong Glam

Neighborhood Profile
Kampong Glam
This traditionally Malay enclave of Singapore offers an alluring array of shops, cafes, and bars. A walk down Haji Lane offers quirky shopping, while one block over, Arab Street is a treasure trove of brightly colored fabrics, clothing, and Turkish rugs. Stop for a leisurely coffee or cocktail and watch local kids play traditional games along the lane. Also home to the Malay Heritage Center and one of Singapore’s most prominent mosques (Sultan Mosque), Kampong Glam is a must-visit for a tantalizing taste of Malay life in this city.
