This was the 1st time we stayed in a hostel and it was great. We chose 5footway chinatown because they have private room and bathroom for family. We're happy to know they have free flow coffee machine and milo, and they also provide us with simple breakfast which is enough for us who never have big meals for breakfast. The... More

I live in 5footway.inn for 1 night with my buddies, and we had a great experience. The location is convenient, right just along the Chinatown street. The dorm is clean and we are sharing toilet among the others. The dorm come with heater, water dispenser and coffee machine, and fast WIFI too.

It is acceptable for the price. The room is good, clean and comfortable bed. Staffs are okay, acceptable service attitude. The cleanliness in toilet was a bit disappointed, please take care of that. Bathroom is okay. WiFi works well. Overall, it is average. For one night stay, that's great.

The location is unbeatable good -- 1 min to Chinatown MRT. It's just next door. Yet the long stairs are scary. If you have heavy luggage it's no good. The breakfast is too simple to believe -- toasts and cereals. And, the toilet and shower place are worn-down and small.

NO RECOMMENDED, the room was terrible, small, humid and had No window! the smell was unbearable, the bathrooms were dirty and water on the floor, it was expensive for this quality, the only good thing was the situation. Anyway, NO recommended at all!!

Horrible smell, the room is wet and small like a shoes box and without windows. Never repeat again. Highly NOT recommend. Horrible smell, the room is wet and small like a shoes box and without windows. Never repeat again. Highly NOT recommend.

Plus: - near MRT (like really really close) - free breakfast (cereal, milk, tea, coffee, toast and jams). - free wifi (fast) - no curfew, 24hr receptionist Minus: - no lift, only stairs. If you have heavy luggage, it's a big no no unless you have someone to help. - few toilets, you have to queue just to brush your... More

My room is 6 bed-mixed dorm. The room can see the Chinatown shop outside through small windows. The toilet is so dirty. The shower rooms also look awful. However, the location is super great.Just a minute from MRT.The Wi-Fi is not bad. The breakfast is not enough. But,Water and coffee are available 24hours.Overall,I'd love to come back here.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
