Small and friendly hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean and right in the center. 5min walk from chinatown station and Outram Park. Surrounded by little restaurant and food court. -ask for a room with a window

We needed a place near the New Years festivities and chose this location. It is in Chinatown in a relatively (for Chinatown) quiet street. Check in was smooth. We were offered a quiet room or one with a window. Strange that "quiet" means "a cell." We had a room overlooking the alley. The room was small and charmless. Bed ok.... More

We've been there as the pictures looked nice. We stayed for 2nights and won't go back there anymore. We heard from friends living in Singapore, that all Hotels 81 were known for having a lot of prostitutes... We were very disappointed! it was not clean, bad smell, no window, very small room, no hot shower and way to expensive for... More

Standard room, 3rd floor Pros: Receptionist staff were very helpful and friendly. Always greeting us when we come in or leave the hotel. Room can be cleaned everyday. New sheets and towels. AC was cold and not adjustable the first night but the 2nd day they left a AC remote control on our bed ( how nice :D ). Location... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days with my family. The room was much smaller and cheaper than the picture but kinda clean. There was no refrigerator but not big problem. The staff was kind and always said "hi" with warm heart. Location is very convenient to go anywhere. The only thing I felt disappointed was no slips served.... More

I stayed here because it looked good on booking.com, very average hotel, you think the lift is going to beak down, it cost 80 more than it's worth, a hot shower, yeah right, forget about that ok. Lookelsewhere or be disappointed.

Room was cleaned every day. walking distance to Chinatown & Outram MRT. Nearby have many restaurant with good foods and breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. The aircon is very cooling but can request the reception to adjust. The only noise comes from the pubs next door especially on Friday , Saturday & Sundays night.

The stay of my couple friend was ok. The location is close to Outram MRT and Bus Stops. Walking Distance to Chinatown. Ok for a budget Hotel since most of the time you will be out to go for a tour. Place is just ok.

People were friendly and welcoming. There is a very good breakfast possibility next to the hotel. Rooms were clean and regulary looked after. Good location, next to the tram station. It could get a little louder in the morning, when guests were arriving or leaving, and also on Friday and Saturday nights as there was a disco next to it.

Is another reason not to stay here if you expect or want up to the normal 12. I did and thought about asking why it was 11, but couldn't be bothered. Only positives were location and willing acceptance of leaving my luggage there several hours for an evening flight. Others have commented on the horrible beds and uncontrollable aircon, which... Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
