I love trip advisor - my wife and I stayed at Ali's in 1995 for new years eve, really pleased it is still going after all these years. I remember we had a big party and we were chalked around on the floor. Good for you Ali, great to see you still operating. I may pop by next week as... More

Ali's Nest was quite an experience...Firstly we got the smallest double room that could possibly exist (be warned if he takes you to the third floor and last room!!!!), with a bunk bed an air-con and a small shelf all cramped into 6 square meter. Secondly it was just under the roof and as soon as it rained it was... More

Extremely good location in Little India, right next to the MRT station (Farrer Park) from where you can get anywhere in the city very quickly. The guesthouse is clean and homely with great wifi, kitchen area and bathrooms kept clean. The fan room we stayed in was small but the bed was very comfortable. Please be aware it's $40 per... More

Excellent location - right in little india, walking distance from the MRT Farrier Park and Little India Stations, as well as shopping malls, markets, and street food area ! Free breakfast in the morning if you want toast/spreads, coffee,... More

We stayed at Ali’s Nest in September 2010 for a couple of weeks. Ok, so the accommodation is basic (located on the 1st and 2nd floors) – we had a double room on the top floor of the ‘nest’ above the kitchen and lounge. We had a double mattress (no frill’s on the floor kind!) with air con (a must... More

Ali's Nest was a clean and friendly place to stay in Singapore. Ali is a helpful, warm and hospitable host. The rooms were basic and functional but clean. Shared bathroom facilities - clean and equipped with hot and cold water. Tea and coffee available all day and 'breakfast' included (modest spread of bread and jams). Nice kitchen/lounge area to meet... More

Ali's place is a very surprising place. First when you enter everything is quiet, but as soon as we climbed up the stairs Ali welcomed us very nicely. He offered us breakfast (we were staying one night but arrived very early the first day so it was two free breakfast). Ali is very helpful and the classical music is perfect... More

Ali´s Nest is a lovely home-stay for people that like to meet other backpackers and people that like to enjoy little India and the lovely food and atmosphere that comes with it. I first meet Ali in 1999 the first time i stayed there, at that time i was a backpacker. Now i could stay in a more fancy hotel... More

We were recommended this place from travellers planet in Melaka. It was the cheapest in Singapore that we found and a great little place to stay. It's a homestay and the guy is really friendly. Good atmosphere and a brilliant location in little India, so much yummy food around. The other guests were all chilled and friendly too, I think... More

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
